Zia FC: The Spirit of Zia FC
![]() |
Zia FC's distinctive insignia is based on the Zia Sun symbol, which originated with the Indians of Zia Pueblo in ancient times. The design of the Zia Sun symbol reflects their tribal philosophy regarding the basic harmony of all things in the universe.
Four is the sacred number of Zia and the figure is composed of a circle from which four points radiate. These points, made up of four straight lines of varying length, personify the number most often used by the Giver of all good gifts.
To the Zia Indian, the sacred number is embodied in the earth, with its four directions; in the year, with its four seasons; in the day, with the sunrise, noon, evening and night; in life, with it's four divisions -- childhood, youth, adulthood and old age. Everything is bound together in a circle of life and love, without beginning, without end. The Zia believe that in this great family of all things, each of us has four sacred obligations: we must develop a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit and a devotion to the welfare of our people.
Zia FC provides to the youth of northeastern Dane County and southwestern Dodge County multi-faceted soccer programs that are age and skill appropriate and support their physical and social development. Zia FC strives, for all players, to encourage passion and enthusiasm for the game of soccer and to promote respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, fans and self. Zia FC is also committed to ongoing training and development for its coaches and referees as added means to enhance the youth soccer experience in our area.
In all of our endeavors, we strive to live up to the vision embodied in our club symbol.
