I will not be getting hotel rooms for any teams this year!  There has been little interest in me getting them, so I feel it will be easier for individual families to get a room on their own if they want to stay the night before!  Pools will be listed as soon as I have them!

15 PINK (May 18)

Directions - 71 South to West on I-670 109-A, Exit 4-B to the Convention Center or 71 South to Spring Street Exit; West on Spring Street to Fourth Street; North on Fourth to Nationwide Boulevard.

The doors will open at 7:00am each day.  First match starts at 8:30am.  We will be playing first so be on the court dressed and ready to go at 7:45am.  Convention Center Rules - No coolers or food may be brought into the building by players or parents. (The center has two concession areas).  No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.  No smoking in gym areas or hallways.  Junior Championships: All teams are to camp in the concourse (and not to block any doors!). Do not camp in exhibit halls D, E, and F, where the tournament is running.  There are no shower facilities.  Keep all chairs far away from any court or playable areas. (Parents may bring their own chairs).  Only certified vendors may sell clothing, shirts, shoes, etc. with approval from the Commissioner.  Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Even being down to 5 players could not stop our young ladies from taking home another tournament title as Zero Gravity 16 Black went undefeated on Saturday for their 5th Gold Championship in a row!  With the help of Makara Scruggs and Caroline Houston for part of the day 16 Black rolled thru the tournament with wins over Advance 16 Black (25-13, 25-13), King of the Court (25-16, 25-9), and Trumbull 16 Grey (25-9, 25-19) during pool play and then Advance 16 Black again, Players Choice, and Spirit in the Gold Play-offs for a 12-0 record for the day.  Team members included Shannon Robson, Hillary Plybon, Meg Sullivan, Brooke Smith, Carly Fazio, Callie Lance, Makara Scruggs, and Caroline Houston.  Congratulations Ladies!

Zero Gravity 16 Black kept their successful season rolling along at Northwest on Sunday, as our young ladies took home the Gold Championship for the 4th time year.  16 Black took control of their net and earned the #1 seed going into the Gold Play-offs with wins over Cannon Crimson (25-20, 25-17), Thunder Mang (25-10, 25-16), and MCVBC 16 Royal (25-19, 22-25, 15-7).  In the Gold Semi-finals 16 Black faced off against Varsity Elite Huntsman and came away with a 25-16, 25-14 win to advance the the Gold Finals to face Club Ashtabula 16-1 in a rematch of a finals match earlier in the year.  Zero Gravity made quick work of Club Ashtabula in game one (25-14), but had to dig deep in game two too pull out the tournament win (28-26).  Team members included Jessica Dudley, Rachael Dudley, Hillary Plybon, Meg Sullivan, Brooke Smith, Carly Fazio, Callie Lance, Makara Scruggs, and Kati Schneider.  Congratulations Ladies!

After a strong performance in the OVR Regional Challenge, our young ladies took home the Gold Championship at Northwest on Sunday.  16 Black cruised through pool play with wins over Matchpoint Ebright (25-13, 25-22), Thunder Evans (25-12, 25-15), and Cannon Crimson (25-11, 25-20) to earn the #1 seed going into the Gold Play-offs.  In the Gold Semi-finals 16 Black faced a tough MCVBC 16 Royal team and fought hard for a 25-19, 22-25, 15-12 win to advance the the Gold Finals to face undefeated Club Ashtabula 16-1.  Playing their best volleyball of the day Zero Gravity made quick work of Club Ashtabula (25-17, 25-16) for the tournament win.  Team members included Shannon Robson, Jessica Dudley, Rachael Dudley, Hillary Plybon, Meg Sullivan, Brooke Smith, Carly Fazio, Callie Lance, and Makara Scruggs.  Congratulations Ladies!

It was a great weekend for Zero Gravity as our 16 Black and 17 Pink teams finished first and second in the 17 Regional Challenge Tournament at Elite Sports and our 15 Pink team went undefeated as they took home the Gold Championship at the Zero Gravity Regional Challenge at Northwest.

Zero Gravity 16 Black had a great weekend at Elite and entered the Gold Play-offs as the #4 seed even though they were the youngest team there.  In the Gold Play-offs our young ladies defeated #5 seed MCVBC 17-1 in the quarter-finals, #1 seed Glass City in the semi-finals, and Zero Gravity 17 Pink in the Gold Finals.  Team members included Shannon Robson, Jessica Dudley, Rachael Dudley, Hillary Plybon, Meg Sullivan, Brooke Smith, Carly Fazio, Callie Lance, Emily Gross, and Kati Schneider.  Congratulations Ladies!

Zero Gravity 17 Pink had a strong showing on Sunday at Elite after finishing 4th on their first net on Saturday when they were missing 3 of their young athletes.  Our ladies entered the Gold Play-offs as the #7 seed and had to go thru #2 seed Varsity Elite 17 Johnson in the quarter-finals and #3 seed Players Choice 17 Phenoms (ranked forth in the OVR) in the semi-finals to make it an all Zero Gravity Gold Final.  Team members included Jenna Samsa, Allie Kracker, Amber Silver, Erica Silver, Makara Scruggs, Liz Perch, Laura Doncaster, Alex Caley, Caroline Houston, and Melanie Lamb.  Congratulations Ladies!

And it was another Gold Championship for our 15 Pink team from as our ladies went 10-0 to win the second tournament in the Zero Gravity 15 Regional Tournament Series.  Team members included Jessica Wormald, Nicole Ogg, Arissa Kyler, Kelsey Radabaugh, Julie Bassett, MacKenzie Moss, Rachel Neugebauer, Megan Solsman, Jordan Hunter, and Adi Fullmer.  Congratulations Ladies!

Another year, another Gold Championship for our 14R team from last year.  Building on their success from last year our ladies went 5-0 on Sunday to win the first tournament in the Zero Gravity 15 Regional Tournament Series.  Our ladies cruised thru pool play with wins over Thunder 15 Henderson (25-9, 25-15), Club W 15 Green (25-20, 19-25, 15-10), and Varsity Elite 15 Dibell (25-14, 25-6) advancing to the Gold Play-offs as the #1 seed.  15 PINKs fine play continued as they defeated Varsity Elite Marianne in the semis (25-20, 25-11) and Varsity Elite Dibell in the finals (25-8, 24-26, 15-8).  Team members included Jessica Wormald, Nicole Ogg, Arissa Kyler, Kelsey Radabaugh, Julie Bassett, MacKenzie Moss, Rachel Neugebauer, Kati Schneider, Megan Solsman, and Jordan Hunter.  Congratulations Ladies!

Both of our older teams had good days on Saturday, with our 18 BLACK team finishing 2nd in the Gold and our 17 PINK team finishing 3rd.  18 BLACK coasted thru pool play with wins over Lake Erie Elite (25-7, 25-7), Glass City 17E (25-22, 25-19), and Thunder 18 Waltz (21-25, 25-9, 15-11).  Our young ladies advanced to the Gold Play-offs to face...

...Our younger ladies who had their best day of the year so far.  17 PINK dropped their first game of the day, but fought back to take their first match against Thunder 18 Oakes (22-25, 26-24, 15-11).  Kidron 18 Orange proved to be a tough match-up for our ladies as they fell short, setting up a battle with Varsity Elite Humphrey for 2nd place on the net and a trip to the Gold.  Zero Gravity 17s had their best match of the year as they defeated Varsity Elite (20-25, 25-19, 17-15), fighting off 2 match points to advance to the all ZG Gold Semi-final.

Both teams played well in the Gold Semi-finals with 18 BLACK advancing (25-22, 25-17) to the Gold Finals, falling to Kidron 18 Orange (15-25, 26-28).  18 BLACK team members included Jess Michael, Jaimie Hartline, Kristen Pero, Lauren Pruneski, Julie Mitzel, Lindsey Green, Jenna Samsa, and Emily Gross.  17 PINK team members included Allie Kracker, Melanie Lamb, Amber Silver, Alex Caley, Makara Scruggs, Caroline Houston, Kara Filicky, Laura Doncaster, Liz Perch, and Erika Silver.  Congratulations Ladies!
