| All players will be placed on a team according to their age. Tryouts are not held to determine whether a player | ||||
| is talented enough to make a team. Rather, tryouts are held to allow coaches a chance to evaluate and gain a | ||||
| better idea of each player's abilities. This process helps insure that teams have a relatively even chance of | ||||
| playing well and being competitive. There are no tryouts for the Ponytail & Pigtail Divisions. | ||||

YSACS also runs a very successful Fastpitch Travel Program (all ages). Our Coral Springs Panthers Travel teams were crowned State Champions in 2 different age groups in 2011 alone!

Coral Springs Youth Softball is again offering group pitching clinics for players 12 and under within our league on Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m at Betty Stradling Park. The cost will be $10.00 per 1 hour session.
The clinics will be supervised by Helen Thomas. Helen has over 30 years of softball playing and coaching experience. She has years of travel ball coaching as well college athletics experience at both the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. In her 1st year as a College Head Coach at Barry, she led her team to its first top 5 National Ranking, first Sunshine State Conference Title for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and garnered Coach of the Year honors. Her travel ball coaching experience began with the Florida Mustangs 18 under A team where every player that stayed with the program through their Senior year received scholarships to college. When the Mustang Organization expanded to lower age groups she coached a 12 and under A team to a number 12 national finish and served as President of the American Fastpitch Association of Florida before taking time off from coaching to start a family.
