Sunday, August 3
Texas Elite (YG) go down fighting to Colorado Quicksilver (9-4) in Kentucky.

On Friday, after an adrenaline comeback against Strikeforce Gold the night before, Texas Elite came into Friday with confidence and momentum against the Colorado Quicksliver. The 8:00 am game was played at Panther Creek Park with Texas Elite needing two wins to advance to Saturday. The tone was set early even though Quicksilver scored 1 in the 1st, Texas Elite bounced back in the 3rd with 4 runs taking the lead 4-1. However it was short lived as Quicksilver tacked on 3 more to tie and kept applying the pressure scoring in every inning after that. Elite threatened many innings leaving 7 runners on base but ultimatley fell (9-4) to conclude Texas Elite's run at Nationals in 65th place out of 144 teams.

Overall a sour ending for Texas Elite but also a learning experience for the players and coaching staff. During the National games Texas Elite (YG) played at Nationals, many colleges were attendance viewing Texas Elite ballgames. Many top schools that include, Purdue, Georgia, Iowa State, Tennessee, Michigan, Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Indiana, San Diego State, Tulsa, Utah State, Virginia Tech and many more. A great exposure experience for Texas Elite (YG).

Texas Elite (YG) will now focus on a competitive Fall as they jump to Gold ball with open try-outs coming soon.

Congrats to Lady Magic from Sacremnto, Cal for winning the Championship!

Thursday, July 31
Texas Elite (YG) take down California Strike Force Gold (5-4).

Facing elimination on Wednesday the Texas Elite (YG) team had to wait out a 5 hour rain delay but finally got the bats outs for a match-up with Strike Force Gold from California. Getting down 4-0 to Strike Force the Young Gunz bounced back to cut it in half 4-2 in the 5th. Down to their last three outs, Texas Elite found a way to plate 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win in dramatic style (5-4) to advance to Friday. Texas Elite will play the Washington Sidewinder & Colorado Quicksilver loser at 8:00am. With already 48 teams eliminated from 144,  Texas Elite hope to stick around awhile. Stay tuned for game details!!

Texas Elite
Opening Ceremonies, Nationals
Thursday, July 31
Texas Elite drop pool #1 to Georgia Elite on day 2.

On Monday, Texas Elite (YG) didn't quite open up their National run the way they wanted to by falling to Georgia Elite (4-0). Both teams started slow as the game was locked at 0-0 until Georgia opened up in the 6th and went ahead to win. Not the start Elite had hoped but a team dinner after the game the ladies regrouped and set a goal to come out swinging on Tuesday.

On day 3, pool game #2 was a match-up with Eruption from Washington State. Texas Elite bounced back with a different offensivey look and seem to help as the Elite was victorious (6-1) to build momentum heading into bracket play on Wednesday. Pitchers Molly Cooper and Kermitria Ward combined for the win.

On day #4, the Texas Elite had a bye and waited on the Atlanta Vipers- Corona Angels winner. Getting up early to watch the Viper-Angel, Elite had a sense of who they might play and was very confident but Angels being down (3-0) against Vipers came back to drop the Vipers (5-3) to advance to play Elite. The Corona Angels who finished as runner-up in the ASA 14U Nationals last year in Ill. came out swinging early and stayed on top as their sticks smothered Texas Elite. With at least 6 defensive errors combined with several big timley hits from the Angels the game quickly got out of hand for Texas Elite as Corona Angels stopped the game in 5 innings (10-0) to devistate the Elite group. Knowing if several plays were made early maybe the tone would of been different throughout the game but know Elite have to regroup and focus on today's game which is set for 4:00. All games on Thursday are on a 2-hour rain delay. Stay tuned for more game details!

Texas Elite (YG) win Hurst 18Gold Championship

Texas Elite (YG) went 8-1 coming out of the loser's bracket to claim the Hurst 18Gold championship held @ Gateway Park this past weekend.

In pool games #1& 2, Elite beat Texas Lady Longhorn (1-0) and Stingers Softball (5-0). In their first bracket game it was a match-up with '92 Texas Threat and Elite came away with a (6-0) victory. On Sunday morning the High Voltage Cobras Gold was next and the Cobra's jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top half of the first but Elite bounced right back and tied the game at 3-3 with Kayla Howards 3-run homerun. Elite went on to win (6-4).

In bracket game # 3, Texas Elite took a (3-0) lead into the top of the 5th but Revenge18U kept fighting and pulled ahead with a strong 5th inning of 2 doubles and a 3 run homerun to go up (4-3). Elite managed the tieing run on second but fell (4-3) dropping into the loser's bracket. Facing elimination, Texas Elite squared off with the East Texas Sports from Longview and Elite claim victory (6-1). Next up was a rematch with the High Voltage Cobra's Gold and both teams seem to be running low on gas and forced an ITB with Elite winning (1-0) to advance to play in the 3rd place game against Denton Doom. Texas Elite energized with Taco Bell came out swinging with 8 hits shutting out Doom (6-0) to fight their way back to the championship game and match-up with the undefeated Revenge 18U. Wanting another crack at the Revenge 18U , the Texas Elite (YG) stayed consistent as they scored every inning in a (7-0) shut-out for the Championship. An incredible weekend of softball and team work as (YG) fought back for the title.

Stay tuned as Texas Elite will now travel to Wichita Falls for the ASA 16 "A" State Tournament.
