Welcome to the York Region Hellenic's S.C. website!
The York Region Hellenics Soccer Club endeavors to provide an equal opportunity of participation for recreational outdoor and indoor soccer events, for member players based on age eligibility established at each event. The Club assists all registered members to achieve full athletic enjoyment through participation in soccer leagues and tournaments, on a local or international basis. Furthermore the Club provides several social events where members can participate with family and friends.
The Club's Mandate:
· To foster, promote indoor and outdoor soccer events based on age eligibility.
· To provide teams for recreational tournaments on all levels.
· To promote social activities for all registered members for their families and friends.
· To work together in harmony with other local or international athletic clubs.

The York Region Hellenics completed another very successful indoor season by advancing to the finals.

Thessaloniki Y.R.H Soccer trip -Sept, 2003
Iraklis vs Y.R.Hellenics(3-3) Neapolis vs Y.R.Hellenics(1-3)
The team was invited by the veterans of the Neapolis Soccer Club of Thessaloniki to play two games during the week of Sept 14th, 2003. Some members of our team took this opportunity to arrive earlier and travel to beautiful halkidiki to spend time on the beach, in the local tavernas, and off course commence training for the games.
Our teams first game was scheduled against the veterans of Iraklis, Sept 15th. This team had several players who played first division soccer. It was a great game dominated by the local team. However, the Y.R. Hellenics stayed in the game and found a way to obtain a tie against this powerful opponent.
Our hosts, the veterans of Neapolis S.C. of Thessaloniki had visited Toronto during their tour of North America in the summer 2001 and played a game against Y.R.Hellenics. The night before the game, they hosted a dinner for the entire team in Halkidiki along with great live entertainment, dancing and as always fantastic food & drinks. Next day Sept 17th was scheduled as the day of the game. Neapolis also placed a team with several great players, and started the game very strong, hoping and expecting to reciprocate their loss in Toronto. On the other hand, the Y.R. Hellenics began the game cautiously, but after the first 15 minutes, they gradually began taking control of the game and scored the first goal. By the end of the first half, they scored two more goals and were completely dominating their opponents. During the second half, Neapolis changed the entire lineup of 11 players and attempted to come back with fresh legs. This plan did materialize, as the Y.R. Hellenics kept on winning the little battles everywhere and counter-attacking their local hosts at every opportunity. With less than five minutes in the game, the local team scored a goal.
