The 2010-2011 Eagles wrestling season has begun!!  Practices are as follows:

Tuesdays Elementary K-4   5:55 - 6:55 pm   /   Jr High 5th-8th   6:55 - 8:30 pm

Thursdays Jr High 5th-8th   6:15 - 8:30 pm 

Saturdays Elementary   8:00 - 9:15 am   /   Jr High 5th-8th   8:00 - 10:15 am

The Sullivan Parking Garage just down the street from the YMCA (not the one directly across the street) offers YMCA participants  2 FREE HOURS  of parking!  

After practice is over, take your Garage Parking Ticket to the YMCA front desk and they will validate your ticket.  Again, this is TWO (aka DOS) FREE HOURS of parking... anything above that comes out of your wallet.  When the snow starts flying you may find this parking option very useful. 

Eagle  Samantha Edwards  competed in the 2010 Girls New Englands this past weekend.  Samantha battled tough competition ( IVAN DRAGO!?! ) in the 6th - 8th Grade divison to be the  2010 GIRLS NEW ENGLAND CHAMPION!   Congratulations Cradler!

YMCA Eagles attended the New England Championships in Lowell MA on 3/7/10.  Those attending were: Camdin Turgeon, Calgary Mackenzie, Quinn Abrams, Aaron Welch, and Adam Briggs.  Although CT kids did not attend, the Eagles still got a good taste of the tough competition from outside the state of NH.  The final results:

Camdin Turgeon - 2nd Place Finish in the 85lb weight division

Calgary Mackenzie - 6th Place Finish in the 95lb weight division

 Quinn Abrams  - 1st Place   NEW ENGLAND CHAMPION  in the 95lb weight division

The Eagles took a small team to Broken Ground Middle School this weekend to compete in a small New England Qualifier tournament.  Those attending: Samantha Edwards, Camdin Turgeon, Calgary Mackenzie, Quinn Abrams, Aaron Welch, and Adam Briggs. The final results:

First Place: Camdin Turgeon, Quinn Abrams, and Aaron Welch

Second Place: Calgary Mackenzie

Fourth Place: Adam Briggs The Top # wrestlers in each weight division have advanced to the NEW ENGLANDS in Lowell MA on Sunday 3/7.  GOOD LUCK EAGLES!

Great job by the Eagles this weekend at the NH Regionals in Londonderry.  The 5th & 6th grade team won the TEAM TROPHY. Team Results:

First Place: Peter LaRiviere, Aaron Welch, Quinn Abrams, Samantha Edwards

Second Place: Calgary Mackenzie, Tommy Chebook, Cam Turgeon

Fourth Place: Joshua Lussier, Seth Ludwigsen

These wrestlers qualified for the NH State Championships to be held at Goffstown High School on Sunday 2/14 (all the mom's are loving the fact that Valentine's Day will spent in a stinky gym ;-)

Great Job by all wrestlers who competed in the Regionals.  Those who didn't place have the opportunity to compete in the Slate tournament which will be held at Goffstown High as well.

Congratulations to the YMCA Eagles Middle School team for winning the TEAM TROPHY at Cardigan Mountain Middle School Tournament in Canaan, NH!  The day's results:

Second Place: Adam Briggs, Tommy Chebook, Quinn Abrams, Cam Turgeon

Third Place: Peter LaRiviere, Calgary Mackenzie

Fourth Place: Aaron "High Crotch" Welch

On Jan. 10, the Eagles K-8 traveled to Salem for the annual Jon Spohn Wrestling Tournament, which included more than 400 athletes from around New England. Bow’s Quinn Abrams again earned a first place victory, with Gresham Connors, Tommy Chebook and Chris Webber in second. Cam Turgeon, Samantha Edwards, Calgary Mackenzie and Gallant all placed third. Trevor Prescott and Pembroke’s Jarrett Griffin finished fourth.

The YMCA Eagles scoped out the McGEE Middle School Tournament in Berlin, CT this past Saturday!!!!!  Y-Alumnist Jean-Luc Lemieux competed alongside the Y-Eagles to represent a small, but strong, NH Team Effort.

Josh Wayne - 8th Grade -  First Place Finish

Peter LaRiviere - 8th Grade -  Second Place Finish  

Jean-Luc Lemieux - 7th Grade Independent -  First Place Finish

Aaron Welch - 7th Grade -  Fourth Place Finish  

Quinn Abramms - 6th Grade -  First Place Finish & Sportsmanship Award

The Eagles K-4 Traveled to Merrimack for a tournament. Division winners included Ihyzaire Grierson, Gresham Connors, Kallab Warren, George Griffin and Damien Bryant. Daniel Franco, AJ Pagliarulo, Brian Gallant, Andrew St. John, Sean Tobin and Declan Casey all finished second. Marx Burtram, Colin Connors, August Connors, Dorsey Bryant, Jarrett Griffin, Will Pagliarulo and Skylar Tobin each took third place. Austin Lesage, Matt Cronin and Scott Gauthier were fourth. Great Job EAGLE!

The YMCA Eagles Season has started!  The following 5th-8th Grade Eagles took to the mat placing in their first match of the season in the Londonderry Middle School Tournament:

First Place: Quinn Abrams, Tommy Chebook, and Samantha Edwards.

Second Place: Adam Briggs, Josh Wayne, and Seth Ludwigsen

Third Place: Ben Francouer and Cam Turgeon

Fourth Place: Matt Cronan (4th Grader wrestling UP a bracket!), Peter LaRiviere, Chris Webber, Josh Lussier, and John Ware

2008-2009 NH STATE CHAMPIONS

Daniel Franco  captured the Elementary 1st & 2nd Grade 63lb State Championship.

Cam Turgeon captured the Elementary 3rd & 4th grade 75lb State Championship.

Aaron Welch captured the Middle School 5th & 6th grade 80lb State Championship.

Congratulations! to the YMCA Eagles for taking a Team 1st Place in the 5th & 6th grade division besting Rundlett in the NH Regionals!!!  The 7th & 8th graders took a Team 4th Place.  GREAT WRESTLING BY ALL JR HIGH EAGLES THIS WEEKEND!  Special thanks to ALL parents / coaches who assisted this weekend.  Major props to Coach Pete & Coach George for being matside this weekend as well.  The only thing missing on the mat was the "Best Ref" in NH!
