THE YGSBL WILL BE BACK FOR THE 2012-2013 SEASON

The YGSBL will continue to field a 64 team setup (16 teams per grade level for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grades).  Teams that played in the YGSBL in the 2011-2012 season have the first right to return to the league for the 2012-2013 season.  (example - if you were a 5th grade team last year and played in the YGSBL last season, your team has the spot reserved in this season's 6th grade YGSBL.  Once a team is in the YGSBL, the league organizers do not remove that team from the league unless it is requested upon by the team itself  or unless significant problems arise.) It is rare that an opening occurs.  5th & 6th grade teams play at Waukesha South and 7th & 8th grade teams play at Waukesha West. 

Listed Below Are The 16 Core Teams That Comprise The YGSBL.  Therefore, These Are The Schools That Have The First Right For The 16 Spots For Incoming 5th Grade Teams In The 2012-2013 League.

  Attention YGSBL Coaches & Club Directors

It is becoming increasingly complex to schedule gym time time and secure referees therefore any and all games that are rescheduled by a team/coach will pay a fee to the league.  This may also impact the team and or school affiliation continued participation in the league. 

Only schedule tournaments when it does not conflict with the league schedule.

The YGSBL basketball league is an organization directed to promoting youth girls' basketball as a developmental training opportunity for 5th through 8th grade girls. Further, it is designed to be directly connected to the residential high school that each team would feed. All teams MUST have a direct relationship with a high school program based upon residence and/or school choice intent of the team makeup.

Teams desiring to play in the YGSBL in Waukesha County should refer to the "Handouts" section from the menu on the left side of this page to access the  "League Application, Roster-Waiver and League Rules" forms.
