YCLL is pleased to offer the convenience of online registration. Before clicking the Register Online button, please read this very important information:
A new YCLL player, is any player who did not play on a YCLL 2009 Spring or Fall Tee Ball, Baseball, or Softball team.
If you are registering a new YCLL player on-line, you must still provide, in person, the player's proof of age and proof of residency. This is a Little League International requirement. Failure to provide these documents will prevent us from assigning a try-out time slot or placing the player on any team.
Acceptable forms for proof of age documentation can be found by clicking HERE (Note: a "copy" of a birth certificate is not acceptable.)
Acceptable forms for proof of residency documentation (you must bring three) can be found by clicking HERE.
You can deliver the documents at one of the following times and locations:
Saturday January 16th, 10:00am - 2:00pm at Dare Elementary. A special "Fast Pass" line will be available for you to present your documents.
or
Tuesday January 19th, 6:30-7:00 pm at St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 300 Ella Taylor Rd.
or
Saturday January 23rd, 10:00am - 2:00pm at Dare Elementary. A special "Fast Pass" line will be available for you to present your documents.
or
Saturday February 6th, 9:00-12:00pm at the 9-12 YO Softball Tryouts
Thank you for understanding the importance of providing these documents and helping us with a smoother registrations process.
Now that we've got the documentation requirement over with....
If you are a new player, agree to, and understand the need to deliver the important documents, or if you are a returning YCLL player, click on the Register Online button at the bottom of this page.
Baseball Players Age is their age on 4/30/10 Softball Players Age is their age on 12/31/09
Girls with a birthdate of Jan, Feb, Mar, or April 2005 can only register for Tee Ball. They are not old enough yet for the 5-6 YO Softball division.
Special notice for all parents of 6 year old (YO) players. YCLL has a separate 6 YO coach pitch baseball division. 6 YO Coach Pitch Baseball is a skills development and transition league. The managers and coaches teach the players to hit a pitched ball from a machine and at the same time prepare players for the small failure of striking out. We divide the season into three parts. The first game will be played using the Tee and not using the machine. All batters will hit off the tee. The next seven games will be played using the pitching machine, however, batters will be allowed to hit off the tee if they haven’t gotten a hit after the 5th delivered machine pitch. After the eighth game, the tee will be retired and not be used for the remainder of games. Our pitching machines are coach operated and the ball is delivered using a spring and arm “like a catapult”. All 6 YO players are eligible to play in the 6 YO coach pitch baseball league whether or not they have played regular Tee Ball in the past.
Here are some thoughts to help you decide where to register your 6 YO player, you know your child best:
-
(1) If your player has never held a bat in their hands before or played baseball in the backyard, play regular Tee Ball.
- (2) Next year, when your player is 7 YO, they must skip over 6YO baseball and sign up for 7 YO Coach Pitch Baseball. 7 YO Baseball is played without a Tee, does not use the machine, the adult coaches pitch, and we start off the season with the "6 strikes and your out rule". Jumping from Tee Ball to 7 YO coach can be a tough transition for some players.
-
(3) It is not uncommon to have new 6 YO players to skip Tee Ball.
