York County Little League: Spring 2012 Divisions
Major League Baseball -- Age 11 - 12
The Little League (Majors) division is for YCLL 11 and 12 year olds only. By Little League Rules, all 12 year olds, regardless of skill level, will be drafted into the Major Division. 11 year olds not selected onto a Majors team may be drafted in the AAA or AA division. In some circumstances a 10 year old player may be "called up" to play in the Majors division. This league will be entirely redrafted in 2011. Players returning from an American League team need not be selected again this year to an American League team. Players returning from an National League team need not be selected again this year to an National League team. ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND A SKILLS EVALUATION TRY OUT. The level of skill and competition at this level is fairly high. The YCLL 11/12 and the 10/11 All Star Tournament teams are drawn from this division. The 11/12 Tournament team could ultimately end up in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. NOTE: 11 year olds playing in the 11/12 year old Fall baseball program does not guarantee a player a spot on a Spring Major baseball team.
