Welcome to the RAMS

Wednesday, August 13
STAFFORDSHIRE GAME 10

This was a great game for this man. Making up for a sub par game the week before, he decided this was the day to enjoy himself and just play.

He took the first kickoff all the way back for his first TD of the day. He then took a punt return back to the house for his second TD. He then caught a brilliant pass from QB Rick Lynch in the endzone, double tapped his toes to make sure it was good, but a penalty brought it back. On the very next play he took a simple hitch, turned outside and ran over two players to get into the endzpne for this third TD of the day. He also had two other score disallowed due to penalties.

Should've been BAFL player of the week, but what do I know, I just write what I see.

DAVE SAUL.....GAME MVP

Wednesday, August 13
SOUTH YORKSHIRE GAME 9

This was another game that the Rams defense won the day.

With a number of key players mising from the defense, due to injury and other things. The defense stepped up to keep the status quo, by making it almost impossible for the Mustangs to get anywhere near the Rams goalline.

With 12 men on D and with a some good rookies playing their part in the win, the lads  tired and let a score in, but by the end of the day the victory was the Rams'.

Special mention to the old man of the Rams, LB Steve Goulding in his 16th year and the clubs' longest serving player, was top defender with 18 tackles 2 or them sacks.

Matt Harkin with 10 tackles and 1 INT.

Rob Kent with 10 tackles and 1 sack.

The whole defense made sure the John Charles Stadium stood as a fortress all year long.

RAMS DEFENSE...GAME MVP.

Wednesday, August 13
REDDITCH GAME 8

Both teams needed this win and boy was it a tough one.

Justin Lester carried the rock up and down the field behind some good blocking from another rearranged O line. The Arrows defense hit hard and often and did a great job of keeping the Rams out of their endzone.

Justin again showed he is still one of the better runningbacks in BAFL, not many get 100+ yards against the Arrows' defense.

Mr Lester this weeks MVP.

Thursday, June 26
WEST COAST GAME 7

A thrilling game for all that came, but not so if you had to play in it. This was a battle, the Trojans fought so hard with a squad of 20, and pushed the Rams close. The defenses of both teams governed the game and this was a bruising encounter

For the 1st time 2 player won MVP.

He starts as a DE and played hard all day only missing about 3 snaps on D all day, he'd come straight off D and line up on the O line as a Tackle, a position he hasn't played for years. He soon was up to speed and did a fantastic job.

All day long he had to cover one of the best in the country Dave Pasnik wr for the Trojans. All day he had to be aware of and tackle another one of the best at his position, RB Jon Sutherland. And when his team needed him he stepped into the backfield and ran the ball like a demon.

DE / OT James Waite & DB / RB Randy Pryce.  This weeks MVPs

Thursday, June 26
SOUTH YORKSHIRE GAME 6

The Rams went down to a re-vamped Mustangs, knowing this was going to be a fight. And as any local derby this gonna be hard fought, violent and clean. The Mustangs beat last years undefeated West Coast Mustangs, so the Rams took this match-up seriously.

All played hard there were some out standing performances by quite a few Rams. Rick Lynch in his first start this year came in and had a great start with 2 touchdown passes. Danny Thomson and Rich Marshall all over the place making tackles, both ending the day in double digits.

Wideouts Saul and Barker catching all thrown their way. Ben Barker seemed to have glue on his hands to snag 2 passes for touchdown from 2 different QBs. Ben opened the day with the 1st td catch in the 1st few minutes of the 1st quarter, scored the last td of the day and stunned all with a thrilling kickoff return to the Mustangs 5, only to see it brought all the way back on a penalty.

Ben ended the day with...

5 Rec.   105 yards.  2 TDs.   2 Ko Returns.    76 yards.

Ben Barker MVP
