SC X-Treme: Code of Conduct

SC X-Treme Code of Conduct
Each member (coaches, athlete, parents, and volunteers) of the SC X-Treme organization has the responsibility to:

1. Treat everyone fairly during any activitiy with the organization, regardless of race, creed, color, sexual orientation, political beliefs, religious beliefs, or economic status.

2. Treat opponents and officials with respect and encourage their fellow members to temper their emotions if they seem to be getting out of hand.

3. Keep in mind that verbal, physical, mental and/or sexual harassment are not going to be tolerated towards any athlete, coach, umpire, fan, opponent or parent.

4. Develop high personal standards and project a favorable image of themselves and the organization.

5. Follow the training routines and team rules as set forth by the coaches and directors of the organization.

6. Abide by the rules of the sport of fast pitch softball, as well as the spirit of the rules, and encourage your teammates and fans to do so as well.

7. Know the role that sports plays in your life as well as the life of the athletes you come in contact with.

8. Respect the pressures that may be placed on yourself and other athletes as you strive to balance the physical, emotional, and mental elements of your lives.


The athletes of the SC X-Treme organization are required to:

1. Know, respect and obey the local, state, and federal laws.

2. Report immediately any individual who may make lewd remarks, sexual advances or request sexual favors of any type.

3. Act in a responsible manner so as to ensure the safety of other athletes, coaches, and officials in the game.

4. Never use, condone, or encourage the use of drugs, alcohol, or any illegal substances.

5. Never act in an unsportsmanlike manner. This includes using profanity, vulgarity, or obscene gestures.

6. Always respect the property, and the rights of others.

7. Accept the responibility of being a role model for younger girls in the organization who look up to you and want to follow in your footsteps.   

REMEMBER, your actions - when representing the program during games, tournaments, recruiting trips and any other X-Treme related events - reflect on and affect the reputation of the coaches and the overall program.


PENALTIES AND CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATING THE CODE OF CONDUCT:

An athlete may be suspended or asked to leave the organization by the team coach or the Board of Directors for any "Conduct Unbecoming of an Athlete," including but not limited to the following:

1. Any arrest for a crime other than a minor traffic violation.

2. Having in her possession any illegal drug, including marijuana or paraphernalia related to the use of drugs.

3. Unauthorized possession of any steroid or performance-enhancing drug.

4. Any involvement in a gambling and/or bribery scheme.

5. Any illegal possession of, or consumption of alcohol, beer, or wine.

6. The theft of money or property from a teammate or any other lawful owner.

7. ANY intentional defacement or destruction of another's property.

8. ANY act of moral misconduct.

9. ANY act or conduct that reflects unfavorably on the SC X-Treme Fastpitch Softball Organization.
