Practice Sessions & Official Baseball Season
The 2007 National Baseball League did not happen. With a constant flow of players joining, the team opted to find its own playing partners and organized practice games and friendlies throughout the course of 2007 and to date. It was a struggle to keep the team going, but the team prevailed and manage to stay together as we lost a few good men and then we picked up a few good men. Without the incentive of a competitive season, we were hard pressed to organize practice sessions, but would expect this to change with the 2008 season only months away. We did practice ever so often for the 2006 season, and were rewarded with the League championship, so if you intend to play with us, you'll be wanting to practice with us as well. It gives the team a better chance of winning.
Notices on training sessions will be sent out from this website. We intend to hold practice sessions until the regular National Baseball League season commences. The 2008 season looks pretty packed, so whether we organize practice sessions during the season is to be seen.
We have unofficial information that the SBSA intends to start the league one the weekend of 23/24 Aug 2008 and then run it till the end of Oct, including division championships and league championship games.
It is expected that teams will only be able to add members to its roster before the season begins and in between the 1st and 2nd rounds of the league. In other words, once the season starts you will have to wait for either of the two breaks to be rostered. You are always able to join us as a member throughout the year, but will only become eligible for play during the designated periods. Teams are also able to add members through transfers from other teams in the League via the methods explained. Those of you who are applying to become members during the season should check with club administration to ensure that you will be eligible for play during any of the mid season breaks.
National Baseball League
We do not yet have very specific information about how the 2008 season will be run. These are still under planning at the SBSA. Due to rain and other scheduling constraints, at times teams may need to play double-headers to finish off the season within the scheduled period (we even had to play a triple header during a tournament in 2004!!!). Schedule details will be posted on this website, so please visit it to keep yourself updated.
Talk has it that there may be as many as ten teams competing in the 2008 League. If we had the confidence to have enough players week in week out, it is not entirely impossible for the club to field two teams; that will depend on the number of members we have available for game play, which has historically not been that high. We have a big roster, but due to the nature of Singapore being a posting for most expats, there is a lot of travelling going on and we tend to miss quite a number of our players at any given point in time.
Forfeited games due to a lack of players are not what this ball club is looking for as a way of having fun on a weekend morning/afternoon, so commitment and dedication on your part really is important.

Double Knockout Tournament
This is organized by the SBSA and was played before the regular NBL season in 2004. We were runner-up champs in the 2004 DKO, even after playing a triple-header to get there, so we're a pretty tough bunch. A DKO was not organized in the 2006 season, and it seems unlikely that this will be arranged for 2008. Not an issue though, so long as we can win enough games to reach the championship series, we will have plenty of games to play.

Enough said, let me apply to be a member.
