WAUKEGAN YOUTH WRESTLING CLUB

We place a strong emphasis on ACADEMICS, SELF-DISCIPLINE,

SELF-ESTEEM, CONDITIONING and GOAL SETTING - inside as well as outside the wrestling room.  

WE SERVE all levels of young wrestlers from beginners through state champions.

Beginner Tournaments??

We will be sending our first year wrestlers to many of the beginner or starter club tournaments to give them some competitive matches where they will not be over matched. Examples of these tournaments are listed below. Please let the coach know if you would like to go to these tournaments, if enough parents are interested we will split the club to accommodate all of our wrestlers. 12/13 - Mundelein Beginner Brawl, 12/19 - Murphysboro Beginners Tournament, 1/3 - Belleville Little Devils Beginner,1/10 1st Annual Jr. Patriots,1/24 - Hononegah Beginners.

Good Grades, Team Participation and Leadership, Equals Rewards!

Remember to bring in your report cards in to receive an academic ribbon and an atendance ribbon. The wrestler with the most ribbons will win a prize at the year end celebration. Ribbons can be attained by getting straight A's and an additional ribbon or 1st ribbon for good grade's of no more than 2 C's per quarter with no D's or F's. School attendance ribbons can be attained for wrestlers with no more than 1 day absent and 1 tardy per quarter. You can also receive ribbons for participating in a team activity (i.e. food drive, toys for tots, Midlands etc), showing good sportsmanship either at practice or in a match when it can be difficult.  (these ribbons are given at the coaches discretion) and for pinning all three wrestlers in a tournament. Prizes in the past have been an X-box, MP3 player, wrestling bags, shirts, knee pads etc. So remember to get good grades at school and represent yourself, team and community in a positive manner.

Turkey Trot! Food Drive was a success!!

I will like to thank everyone who participated in helping the Waukegan Park District in the food drive. I will be giving out participation ribbons to all that wrestlers that participated. Check out the pictures in the Album section.
