U6 and U8 Field Marshals
To All U6 and U8 coaches
We're sending a reminder of some changes we introduced to you at the recent Coach's meetings. This is the info for the duties of the Field Marshals
U6 & U8 Field Marshals Shall-
A. Collect u6 and u8 game sheets from Home team
B. Make decision to call games for bad weather or field conditions
C. Encourage games to start/end on time (If all other games are started except yours, they may pay you a visit)
D. Monitor games. Direct people out of goalie area (Please inform your parents or assistants that this is illegal. Let the player play!)
E. Answer any coach’s questions regarding rules of play
They will be dressed in bright Orange or Yellow vests to make them easy to find at the end of your games so the home team can turn in the game sheets to them.
The Field Marshals are there to assist the coaches and promote the good of the game. Please respect them as you should any referee or League official.
I believe you will find these people helpful to you.
Enjoy your season!

COACH INFORMATION
TO ALL LEAGUE COACHES AND PARENTS OF PLAYERS,
WE HAVE POSTED ON OUR SITE, IN THE REGISTRATION MATERIAL HAND-OUT SECTION, A HELPFULL MEMO THAT COACHES SHOULD BE USING WHEN GATHERING INFORMATION AND PREPARING FOR TEAM REGISTRATION, FOR ALL UP COMING SEASONS. IN PARTICULAR - WE RECOMMEND THAT COACHES READ THROUGH THIS MEMO SO THEY HAVE A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT SHOULD BE TAKING PLACE AND WHEN THEY SHOULD BEGIN THE PROCESS TO REGISTER THEIR TEAM. PARENTS SHOULD BE REVIEWING THIS MEMO SO THEY ARE ALSO AWARE OF THE PROCESS AND UNDERSTAND WHAT THE COACHES WILL NEED AND WHEN.
AS ALWAYS IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT A BOARD MEMEBER WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE AREA IN QUESTION.

ALL COACHES PLEASE READ
COACHES PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
(DIRECTLY FROM THE US SOCCER FEDERATION TEXTBOOK: ADVICE TO REFEREES AND THE LAWS OF THE GAME. LAW 4 PLAYERS EQUIPMENT)
SECTION 4.4 GOAL KEEPER UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
UNDER LAW 4, GOAL KEEPERS MUST WEAR A JERSEY COLOR DISTINCT FROM THE PLAYERS OF BOTH TEAMS AND THE REFEREE AND ASSISTANT REFEREES. IN ADDITION, GOAL KEEPERS TRADITIONALLY WEAR ITEMS OF CLOTHING BESIDES THOSE PRESCRIBED UNDER LAW 4. THESE ITEMS INCLUDE SOFT HATS OR CAPS, GLOVES, TRAINING SUIT PANTS WITH SPECIAL HIP OR THIGH PADS, JERSEYS WITH PADS ALONG THE ELBOWS AND ARMS, AND SEPARATE PADS FOR KNEES OR ELBOWS. THERE IS NO PROBLEM AS LONG AS THESE ITEMS OF CLOTHING DO NOT PRESENT A DANGER TO ANY PLAYERS, ARE OF A COLOR DISTINCT FROM THE UNIFORMS OF PLAYERS OF EITHER TEAM AND ARE, IN THE OPINION OF THE REFEREE, CLEARLY RELATED TO THE GOAL KEEPER'S FUNCTION. THE REFEREE SHOULD PREVENT ANY PLAYER OTHER THAN THE GOAL KEEPER FROM WEARING AN ITEM OF CLOTHING OR EQUIPMENT THAT IS PERMITTED TO THE GOAL KEEPER UNDER THESE CRITERIA.
Coaches, you may also review these Laws by going to the following web site - use our links path - www.msysareferee.net There are tabs to the left side of the page, at this site. Under OTHER MENU you can find rules of play, advice to referees and a guide to procedures. I have given out this information at numerous meetings. I hope this link will perhaps give additional help.
As always if you have any questions please contact a Board Member
