I hope you're all as excited as I am about the upcoming season. I've already got my eye on some new cleats (hopefully my son doesn't take them this time!).
It's great seeing new players and families on the fields. If you are new to the league, let me personally say we're glad you're here! You are now part of a world wide community. Take the time to enjoy the games on tv, or maybe take a road trip to see an MLS game (Chicago? Columbus?) You can also catch the Michigan Bucks play right here in our local area.
I always encourage players to make use of training videos to increase their skills. Soccer is a wonderfully creative game. Watch a child pull off a fancy step over, or scissors move and you'll know what I mean. Training videos can be found easily on line and at local sporting goods stores. Some as low as $10.
We'd like to welcome Dan Lass and Marria Saroli....
Wysl has a new Referee Administrator, Dam Lass. Dan brings experience and passion with him. He and the rest of the Board have taken steps to shore up our referee squads. We want this spring to go well and everyone to have a good time.
We'd also like to welcome back Marria Saroli as League Treasurer. She's done a fine job in the past and I'm sure she will again.
COACHES - We are working with Vice President John Messing to bring more coach training to our group. John's used his connections to bring us great clinics in the past and will again. Keep your eyes peeled!
We are also working on a special addition to our schedules for our players. It's a little hush-hush, but Secretary Hodges has something in the works that I think we're all going to like. We'll let you know asap!
Hats off to all our players and volunteers!
Have a great season!
Yours in soccer,
Chris McEachran
