Help Whitman Youth Soccer Win $2,500 Grant
Help Us Win $2,500
We are still in need of participants for the Liberty Mutual $2,500 grant. WYS is in 15th place and the grant is awarded to the top 5 organizations in our category.
Go to: Http://www.ResponsibleSports.com/Grant. It only takes 10 minutes. Go to site, read some articles and take a short quiz. Make sure you select Whitman Youth Soccer, Inc as the receiving organization. Pass this info onto friends and family and ask them to help WYS! This should be an easy way for us to earn money to improve our fields, buy equipment, offer training and keep our registration fees reasonable. Please help!

We will hold our monthly mandatory General meeting on May 22, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Whitman Police Station in their conference room. All Spring coaches are required to attend and all members are invited.

Massachusetts Youth Soccer is proud to operate a summer soccer program each year called the District Select Program. The District Select Program is an outstanding opportunity for players to continue their development during the summer in a fun and competitive soccer environment.
PLEASE
NOTE: District 2 combines some of their age groups in forming both their
Boys' and their Girls' teams. The following represents for which age group team
a player should try out. Players can only play within their age
groups!

MYSA'S "ATTITUDES ARE CONTAGIOUS" VIDEO NOW AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THE WEB
Mass Youth Soccer has developed and produced an outstanding video focusing on the issues of sideline behavior of adults, and specifically on how that behavior is affecting the retention of qualified referees.
The video features actual game footage shot during league games and at tournaments, the video shows adults being themselves their comments, actions and antics along the sidelines. You will hear referees talk about how the sideline behavior of adults affect them, and the impact the comments can have on matches. More importantly you will hear from the players themselves what they think of the comments from the sidelines.
Parent and spectator behavior along the sideline is shown in a constructive fashion. It's easy to see how involved adults become and how easy it is to slip over the line from being supportive to being critical. The video highlights several very simple steps to improve the situation along the sideline.
We all want to ensure our children have a positive, fun experience playing the game. This video goes a long way to help encourage that. The video is appropriate for viewing by coaches, players AND parents of teams at all age groups.
