Pictures

Pictures are scheduled for September 15th and 16th from 6:00 pm - 8:00pm. We will schedule blocks of 15-20 min. sessions. Coaches are asked to call Dave Nixon (760-6442) or (655-2536) to schedule your pictures. Please don't wait to schedule becuase you will get what's left.

 



Thursday, July 30
Minutes from July 29th meeting

Dave Nixon open and ran this meeting due to Mark Morgan being on vacation.

1)  Finalize list of coaches attending First Aid/CPR/AED training at West Windsor Fire Station on Aug. 9th, 2009. Dave Nixon will make sure refreshments and drinks will be available for those attending this class.

2)  Discussion on weigh ins on Aug 15th, 2009. Each coach must use the league roster form which was handed at this meeting. Each coach must make sure that when their kids are weighing in that they have a copy of their birth certificate to present at the scales. If they don't have it, then the weigh in doesn't count.

3)  Windsor will host a second weigh in for those people who can't make the one on Aug. 9th. This date is August 26th and more details to follow. Coaches are to ask that each person make every effort to make the first weigh in.

4) Went over last minute details for our camp from Aug. 3rd - 6th. Tim West did say that the water station is operational but we will still have 2 water coolers there in case. George Hull will bring 2 water coolers.

5)  Our Medical Insurance has been paid ($920.82) so now there is coverage for those kids who don't have medical coverage.

6)  Mouth pieces, chin straps, and first aid supplies have been order from Zappia's and should be here by end of this week.

7)  Discussion on cheerleading uniforms and Donnette Gill thinks we should be okay with uniforms but will not know until the size the girls.

8)  We will move the football equipment down to the concession stand from the town hall on Sunday, August 2nd @ 6:00 pm.

9)  Jim Barnes had made a request for a 8 yr old to move up to 9/10. This will have to be reviewed by a committee to insure this 8 yr old has the skills for this level. More details to follow.

10)  No meeting was schedule but there will be a draft meeting at Wayne Doolittles house on August 6th @ 133 Dunbar Road. Time has not been set and will follow.

 



Friday, July 24
Minutes from July 22nd meeting

Meeting opened by Dave Nixon and turned over to Mark Morgan

 1)  John Carey (Windsor Modified Coach) came in and went over the modified rules with the coaches. There was a question and answer session which was very informative. We also went over the formations and defenses that the Windsor Modified Team will be using.

2)  We went into more details on the camp and what coaches will be doing and helping out with.

3)  Discussion on what equipment needs to be order for the camp.

    a)  Mouth pieces, chin straps, footballs, and first aid supplies will be ordered by Dave Nixon from Zappias.

4)  Buck Teeter will be in charge of meeting with the parents and implementing our new code of conduct and warning.

5)  A request has been sent into Chris Durdon (Athletic Director) about having lines put down for the camp.

6)  Dave Nixon will be running the late sign ups at the concession stand during the camp.

7)  The cheerleading coaches are planning their own camp at the same time as the football group.

8)  August 15th will be the weigh in for all tackle football players at Chenango Forks Middle School @ 9:30 am.

9)  There was a discussion about holding another weigh in and Dave Nixon will contact Don Donbur (Tioga) about this matter. Windsor will volenteer to be a site for these weigh ins.

10)  It was decided that ANY player who is ejected from the game for flagerant mis-conduct will suffer a 1 game suspension. If this happens again, then there may be a more severe punishment implemented.

11)  All first time coaches must fill out a Town Application and submitted to Mark Morgan.

12)  All coaches are being asked to take the Certification Class which is being held at BCC on August. You can register on line and the fee is $20.00. You will be re-imbused after you have taken the test.

13)  We are also asking all coaches to attend the First Aid/CPR/AED training which is being offered on Aug. 9th at 7:00 am at the West Windsor Fire Station. We would like to thank Steve Kalafut and Jerry Launt for this service.

14)  Next meeting will be July 29th at the Community House @ 7:30 pm.



Friday, July 17
Minutes from July 15th Meeting

7:30 pm meeting was opened by Dave Nixon and turned over to Mark Morgan.

1)  Cheer Camp

    a)  Will be held on August 3rd, 4th, 5th

    b)  Coaches are still needed to coach - Donnette Gill will start recruitment

    c)  Donnette Gills staff of coaches will call all girls and inform them of this camp.

2)  Football Camp

    a)  Day 3 of camp each age group will break into there own groups.

    b)  Equipment will be brought down to the concession stand the night before camp.

    c)  Wednesday (Aug. 5th) the 11/12 Tackle will receive their equipment first.

    d)  9/10 and 7/8 will follow

    e)  Discussion on lines on field for camp - Dave Nixon to ask Mr. Hogan to request for us. Also to inquire about using Palmer Gym to distribute equipment.

        9/10 Windsor 2 - Eric Rudock (Head Coach), Jim Barnes, John Goodspeed, Dave Kirgan, John Spano, Mike White, more to be added

    c)  11/12 Windsor 1 - Mike Reed (Head Coach), Bill Zakrajsek, Frank Vroman, Todd Gates, Chad Kilmer, Frank Blair, more to be added

    d)  Game times for Windsor 1 will be; 7/8 @ 11:30 am, 9/10 @ 1:30 pm, 11/12 @ 3:30 pm  -  Windsor 2 will be; 7/8 @ 1:30 pm and 9/10 @ 3:30 pm

    e)  Flag has not been figured out yet. It looks like we have enough for 2 teams -  Game time will be at 1:00 pm

4)  Equipment

    a)  We will buy 4 hand held air bags for each team through Jason Miller.

5)  Next meeting July 22nd at Community House @ 7:30 pm.

Minutes from July 8, 2009 meeting

Meeting opened @ 7:30 pm by Dave Nixon and the meeting turned over to Mark Morgan.

1)  Our football camp (Palmer School) will be from August 3rd - 6th (6:00pm - 8:00pm)

August 3rd - Offense

Warm ups - Tim O'Connor & Buck Teeter

O-Line - Jim Barnes, Tim O'Connor, Chad Kilmer, Marko Radicchi

Receivers - Mark Morgan & Frank Ryan

Quarterbacks - Mike Reed & Eric Rudock

Running Backs - Bob Weingartner & Kyle Aurelio

Other coaches will fill in as needed

August 4th - Defense

Warm ups - Tim O'Connor & Buck Teeter

D-Line - Jim Barnes, Wayne Doolittle, Tim O'Connor

Linebackers/DE - Todd Gates, Dave Kirgan, Kyle Aurelio

DB/Safeties - Mark Morgan, Bob Weingartner, Frank Ryan

Other coaches will fill in as needed

August 5th - Combination Offense/Defense

August 6th - Timed drills & draft for 7/8 & 9/10

2)  Dave Nixon will take care of late sign ups and weigh ins

3)  Kyle Aurelio, Todd Gates, Jack Teeter will be asigned to bring equipment from Town Hall to Palmer Field

4)  Buck Teeter will address parents about conduct and the Towns & Leagues rules on behavior from parents.

5)  Level I coaching certification courses are available at the following sites;

July 10th - Montrose, August 11th - BCC, and August 20th - Maine Endwell

6)  There will be a First Aid/CPR/AED training by Steve Kalafut & Jerry Launt at the West Windsor Fire Company on August 9th from 7:00 am until done. We will provide refreshments and ask all coaches to make every effort to be there. This would complete Level 2 certification.

7)  Jim Barnes was able to get the following information. He has located a company which will do background checks which would complete Level 3 certifications. The charge would be $6.50/ coach plus a $25.00 service charge paid by our organization.

8)  Discussed that practices will be held on Monday-Wednesday-Thursday (5:00pm - 9:00pm) before school starts. Practices will go down to 2 days/week when school starts.

9)  We will purchase Hand Held Air Bags for each team to practice with.

10)  All coaches will meet next week July 15th @ 7:30pm at the Community House to discuss who will be coaching what teams. We are asking every coach to be there.

 

 



Monday, June 8
Minutes of June 3, 2009 Youth Football Meeting

1)  Discussion about the number of sign ups and it looks like we will have enought players for possibly 2 - Flag, 7/8 Tackle, and 9/10 Tackle Teams.

2)  We will hold our camp the week of August 3rd through August 6th. All players will be asked to attend this football camp at Windsor High School. More information will follow on this camp.

3)  Discussion on the number of coaches and who will be coaching what level.

4)  There was a discussion about where the extra teams will be playing this year and a vote was taken and it was decided that all of the Windsor Teams will compete in the STYFC League. There will be a draft system developed for the 7/8 and 9/10 Tackle Teams to make each one competitive. Also any siblings on younger or older teams will be aligned with each other to insure the families will travel to one site for competition.

5)  It was decided that anyone interested in coaching Football or Cheerleading will have to complete the Level I Coaches Certification Course. This course will be available in June and August and is a 2 1/2 hour course. If interested contact Mark Morgan (467-1892).

6)  Next meeting will be July 8th at the Community House @ 7:30 pm. This meeting is open to anyone interested in coaching or helping out.
