Dogs Tip Ox at New Oxford
In a tightly-contested battle, West York maintained its Division 2 lead over rival New Oxford with a last second tip-in by senior Andrew Zmolek. After a backand forth game that saw neither team with more than a 4 point edge, the Bulldogs found themselves with the ball and a tie score with 2:14 remaining. The Bulldogs chose to run time off the clock, looking for the last shot of the game, and got just that as Brandon Parker's miss with 4 seconds remaining was kept alive first by Bryt Abel, then tipped in by Zmolek as the final horn sounded and the Bulldog bench erupted in celebration. The win gives the Bulldogs at least a share of the Division title; they can win it outright with a win against either Northeastern on Tuesday at home or Susquehannock on Friday.
NOTE: If Tuesday's game versus NE is postponed due to inclement weather, the make-up game has already been "penciled-in" for Monday, Feb 2. Stay tuned to WGAL.com or www.wyasd.k12.pa.us for cancellations or delays.
Friday's game versus Susquehannock is Senior Night.
