Congratulations goes out to another former Mass Vikings player who has received a prestigious honor of being named to the 2011 US Lacrosse Academic All-American Team.
William "Billy" Hegarty ~ Midfielder & Team Captain of Algonquin Regional High School (2011) and will be attending the United States Naval Academy in the fall.
The Mass Vikings wish him all the best in the future ~ Honor, Courage and Commitment ~

Mass Vikings Shout Out ~ College acknowledgements 2011

Congratulations to a former Mass Vikings player ~ Defenseman Patrick Healy of Southboro. Patrick attended St. Sebastian's School in Needham and is being recognized as one of the Nation's Blue-Chip recruits of 2011.
Through Patrick's hard work and commitment to both his studies and the great sport of LAX~ he has been awarded a scholarship to the University of Notre Dame for the fall of 2013.
The Mass Vikings wish him all the best and say "Way to go Patrick ! "~ GO IRISH !

Mass Vikings ~ 2011 Champion All-Americans Showcase in Buena Vista Fl

Congratulations goes out to 2 former Mass Vikings players Dave McGovern and Dan Harvey. Both were recently named to the 2011 US Lacrosse Boys' High School All-American Regional Team and selected to play in the 2011 Champion All-American Showcase being held this week @ the Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
*Dave McGovern is a raising senior at Algonquin Regional High School, where he has lead his team to the State Final and has been named Captian for the 2012 season. He is one of the 200 elite athletes from around the nation to be chosen to compete in this event.
*Dan Harvey has just graduated from Saint John's in Shrewsbury School and is attending the Kent School for a Post-Graduate year in the fall.

Congratulations goes out to 2 former Mass Viking players being named part of the 2011 elite group of high school boys whom US Lacrosse considered to be the best of the best.
* Nick Mazzola ~ Defenseman @ Algonquin Regional High School (2011) and will be attending the University of Maryland in the fall. GO TERRAPINS!!
* Dan Harvey ~ Goalie @ St. John's Shrewsbury (2011) and will be attending Kent Prep School in the fall.
The Mass Vikings would like to Congratulate the boys and wish them all the bests in the future.
A US Lacrosse All-American is a player who exhibits superior skills and techniques and possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. A US Lacrosse All-American is one of the best players in the United States, while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.
This year, US Lacrosse implemented a three-tiered recognition process to accommodate for the different high school lacrosse playing seasons across the country. This is the third and final group of regional All-Americans for 2011. US Lacrosse will select 24 players as first-team National All-Americans and 24 players as second-team National All-Americans. Those announcements will be made during the Champion All-American Showcase in late July at the ESPN RISE Games.
