The Rochester Rockies behind the dominant pitching of Dave Schumacher (7 IP, 6 K's, 3hits) defeated the Storm 13 - 0 in a Sunday afternoon game played at Roth. Schumacher flirted with a no-hitter, before losing it in the bottom of the sixth with two outs as Dave Meizenshal's Texas leaguer dropped in over and infront of his desperate teammates attempts to preserve it. The Rockies gave him plenty of run support also, whacking out 17 hits while scoring 13 runs in the process. The Rockies move to 8-8-1 and play the Division leading Padres in the regular season finale next Sunday in a game that could have huge implications on the final standings as well as who makes the playoffs this year.
