The Rochester Rockies got five solid innings from starter Dave Schumacher (5 IP, 5 HITS, 4 K's) allowing 1 unearned run, and two solid innings of relief from Anthony Leonardo (2 IP, 2 hits, 1 K) enroute to a 8-1 over the Dodgers.  The Dodgers got on the board early in this one . Matt Z led off the game with a double and scored with two outs to stake starter Steve Ruffino to an early 1-0 lead. That lead lasted for two outs, before  the Rockies John Sexton (2-3, double, HR) went yard over the Spencerport "Blue Monster" in right center field to tie the score at 1-1. After a scoreless second inning, the Rockies broke out the lumber in the top of the third. Leonardo (1-1) singled to start the inning. Schumacher sacrificed him over to second, and Bill Schnupp (1-2, double) doubled him in. Jason Mann (1-2) followed  wth a single to score Schnupp. Doug Costello was hit by a pitch, Mickey Harris (2-2, double) singled, and Sexton drove them both in with a double. Evan Bickel (2-3) singled in Sexton, and the Rockies had a 6-1 lead in the third. The Rockies added the only other two runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Doug Costello was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, Harris doubled him in, moved to second on Bickell's second hit of the day, and then scored  on Larry Frisa's sac fly to center. Leonardo pitched out of a jam in the seventh and the Rockies had taken a 8-1 victory over the newcomers. The Dodgers look like a team destined to get better with experience. Best of Luck to them the rest of the year.
