Prospect Park Cross Country is all heart at the USATF Region 1 Championship in Augusta, Maine.
12 Athletes made the long drive to Augusta Maine....and it was worth every second.
We are so proud of Bridget, Joshua, Sydney, Rory, Annaliese, Ethan, Marley, Aviv, Sofia, Brandon, JC, and Bryan for running the extremely hilly course. All 12 runners ran with with a ton of heart. Despite the difficult course, our athletes times were fast and competitive with the best athletes from the Adirondack, Connecticut, Long Island, New York, Maine, Massachusettes, Vermont, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

40 Boys and Girls from the PPYRC challenged the hills at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday-October 11. The team offered some great performances and major improvements in all races. Smart race tactics and strong finishes placed Prospect Park among the day's top teams.

Congratulations to everyone that ran the first XC meet of the year. Performances were amazing and times were fast. Specific times will be posted as soon as the official results are posted by the USATF Metropolitan league. Check back soon for photos of our athletes from the meet.
DIRECTIONS TO VAN CORTLANDT PARK
Driving Directions:
Take the BQE to the Triboro Bridge. Cross bridge and take the Major Deegan North (on left) to Van Cortlandt Park South. Stay right and follow the exit around and over the highway, through the 1st light then bare right again, at the flashing light, onto Broadway (passed Burger King). The race course is in the open field, along the treeline, opposite the Tortoise and Hare statue.
OR
Westside Highway to the Henry Hudson Parkway North. Go over the bridge over the Harlem River (leaving Manhattan, now entering The Bronx) ($2 toll) and take exit 23 (Broadway). Turn right, (south) onto Broadway.
Subway:
Take the 1/9 line all the way to the end of the line and walk about 200 metres to the South end of Van Cortlandt Park.
