As we discussed, anyone interested in coming to Maine must notify me asap.  The league has given us until Wednesday to confirm all PPYRC entries.  The hotel rate is $99 per night.  Just mention the USATF Region Cross Country Championships.  The drive is approximately 6 1/2 to 7 hours.  This is a large meet and a great experience and preparation for the AAU Nationals in Florida.  If you will be going to Maine, please email me today.  I will complete your entry and payment.  The team will cover the cost for this meet for the entry.  You will need to arrange your transportation and hotel.  if you are interested in having your child go to this meet, but are unable to attend, please let me know.  We do have a few parents that may be able to help with transportation.

NOTES TO THE TEAM

It is recommended that all children purchase a simple Under Armour shirt to wear in races on cold days.  You do not have to get the actual Under Armour brand.  Any dryfit, spandex, stretch-fit, sport-type lobg sleeve shirt is fine.  Modell's carries several low-cost, but effective brands.  Black is preferred, white is the second choice.  If your child has a form fitting black or white long sleeve (non-turtle neck) t-shirt that is COMFORTABLE for racing, that is fine, too.

As the weather begins to change, many of the children may complain about their throat feeling sore.  The dry air and pollen count is usually the cause.  The cleanest germ-free air is outside.  Make sure that your child continues to hydrate regardless of the temperature.  They are working hard and often forget to drink when it is cool outside.

LOOKING AHEAD:
