2012 Season
The 2012 season will begin on February 27th. We anticipate having to practice indoors for the first couple of weeks. More information will be forth coming as we approach the date. Outdoor practices will be at Carl Sandburg School off Jewel Rd, in Wheaton.
Optional Cookie dough Fundraising to Reimburse YOUR Family
We will once again supply each player with an opportunity to earn back up to $300 in fundraising by selling cookie dough. Judy Ciufo will be sending out an email with more information.
Uniforms
In the past, uniforms have been supplied at the registration meeting. This year, the club will be purchasing new varsity uniforms, thanks in part to WWSHS Tiger Paws, WN Booster Club, and Carson’s Community Days fundraising. We hope to be able to raise enough money to purchase new uniforms for the remainder of the club next season. Uniforms will be handed out after teams have been announced.
AFTER SEASON REGISTRATION
We will continue to accept players up-to the date of our first game. If you or a friend want to try out for another sport and do not make the team, it is not too late to sign up for lacrosse. You will owe full season dues, and we will attempt to have another fund raiser so you have the opportunity to earn back up to $300.
Spirit Wear
Mrs. Nuttall is working hard to get us the best selection of spirit wear possible. She will send out more information later.
Yard Signs and Car Decals
All NEW players will receive a United Yard Sign and a car window decal. (If I don’t have enough the night of registration, I will get every girl one as soon as possible.)
Carson’s Community Days
We plan on participating in the spring and winter Carson’s Community Days fundraising. This fundraising is for the club. We are doing this to build a reserve for the future of the club, so we don’t have to increase costs when costs rise. This reserve will be used to cover raising expenses , such as bus costs, field paint, additional coaches, etc.. It will also be used to purchase new equipment and supplies, such as the remaining uniforms.
EQUIPMENT
A representative from
CoolStickLax.com will bring samples of equipment that can be purchased or custom ordered. You are under no obligation to purchase. This is as much for new players as current ones. For girls who are “curious” about the sport, we recommend signing up for the pre-season camp. We can make arrangements with current and former players to supply a stick and face mask. You will be required to purchase a mouth guard. Do not get a clear color. Get one that is black or has color.
Events We Hope to Have
Team Car Wash sometime in April
Attend a Local Game Featuring former United Players
Team Barbeque Dinner
Senior Night
Awards Night
Volunteers Needed
We would love to have parents volunteer to organize one of the events listed above. Most of the events require a few phone calls and day-of-event time. We will send a brief “job description” of positions we could use assistance with. Volunteering is not mandatory. Please consider using some of your volunteer time to help out the club.
