STEALEY INVITATIONAL INFORMATION

Enclosed is the necessary information for the 2009 Stealey Invitational. The 2-day event is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 17-Saturday, July 18. Please read carefully then fill out the included form and return them ASAP, but no later than 6pm on Wednesday, July 8th, along with appropriate payments, to Coach Kelly. Please look at the order of events then mark the fastest entry time in METERS on the appropriate form (boy or girl) with your name and birthdate. Important to note that the WVU Natatorium is in yards, so times must be converted. If you need help doing so, feel free to ask a coach. Please be aware of and abide by the following rules:· A swimmer must swim in 3 SUMMER LEAGUE meets to be eligible to participate in the Invitational. The WVA coaching staff has the 2009 records and will confirm swimmer eligibility before submitting documentation to the host team.
· The swimmer’s age / age group is determined as of July 17th, the 1st day of the Invitational, which will again be confirmed by the WVA coaching staff. Disqualification from all events entered will occur if it is determined that the swimmer is in the wrong age group.
o Swimmers 8 years of age or younger may swim in 4 individual events and 2 relayso Swimmers 9 years of age or older may swim in 5 individual events and 2 relays
*Number of individual events includes the course of the entre 2-days**WVA coaching staff will put together relays! · Once entries are turned in to the host team, changes cannot be made! Please choose events carefully! No deck entries will be accepted either, so please turn in entries on time, no later than July 8th!
· Swimmers MUST swim in their own age group and same sex. Unlike during the regular season, swimmers may not swim up or over (for example, we may not put together a relay that includes 3 boys/1 girl, or 3 nine year olds/1 eight year old, etc.).
· Each individual event that a swimmer participates in has an entry fee of $4.00 per event, which needs to be paid to WVA. For example, if a swimmer plans to swim in 3 individual events, a check must be made payable to WVA (or West Virginia Aquatics) for a total of $12.00, and turned in to Coach Kelly, along with the Stealey Invitational form. Please be sure to double check and pay the appropriate amount! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know!

SwimGym
We are pleased to announce the dates for the upcoming Swim Gym Season. The Swim Gym group is designed to introduce swimmers to the competitive side of swimming. This is used as an introductory class to our Cudas Group for 5 to 8 year olds.Each Swimmer should have swim lesson experience and knowledge of freestyle. There will be an evaluation on the first day of each session to assess swimmers. You can register online or at the pool.

· All Classes are held at the WVU Natatorium. We offer 2 times based on availability with no more than 4 per instructor
· WVU Times 5:15pm to 5:45pm or 6:00pm to 6:30pm.
