Signups for 9-12 year olds will be by age, not by division. Players will be placed in Majors, AAA and AA depending on their tryout. Returning Majors players will remain on their teams. Minors are now AAA, and what was Jr. Minors is AA. You can sign your 9-year old up for Jr. Minors and forgo tryouts. 8-year olds may be signed up in either A (Farm) or AA.
This years Juniors program will operate at K3 (54'pitching distance, 80' bases) for the first 2/3 of the year, then migrate to 90' bases and 60'6" pitching distance for the last 1/3. The Juniors TOC's and All-Stars are played on 60/90 bases. Juniors are open to 13 and 14 year olds.
This year we will add a Seniors (15-16) division. The Seniors division will have tryouts and a draft late in the High School JV season, with games starting promptly after the JV seasons end.
Last year West Redding LL grew from roughly 250 kids to over 400. With this growth comes the need for more volunteers. Remember, LL is a non-profit league with zero paid employees. This is our league, run by all of us for our kids. Not everyone can help all the time, but we can all find some time. Don't find yourself complaining about the coach of a team you could have been coaching...... Remember you are welcome to volunteer your time to umpire games when you disagree with a call a youth umpire or a volunteer adult umpire makes!
It is up to all of us to make this league what we want it to be.
