Real Technique - Self Discipline - Nurturing
TRUE WRESTLING DEVELOPMENT

Advanced Technical Education – Areas include top, bottom & standing position. An intelligent and intense, aggressive attack is the basis surrounding all technical instruction. The entire scope of wrestling is addressed throughout each training session: Position, Stance/Motion, Set-ups, Hand-fighting and Hand-control, Tie-ups, Penetration, Finishes, Offensive and Defensive attacks, Riding, Pinning, Escaping, Match strategies.

Intensity Training Education – "Physical Challenges" - Intensity can most certainly be developed. Hard work and determination breed intensity. We explore and discuss types of training that help the body and mind to overcome adversity and become more intense. To be successful in this sport, intensity development is a must.

Weight Loss and Weight Management Education – "How many carbohydrates?...How much protein?... How much fat?..." Many wrestlers expend a great deal of effort and time worrying about their weight instead of improving their wrestling. Most wrestlers do not have a concrete plan on how to diet and maintain weight effectively. While there is no one specific diet we provide suggestions that have been successful for elite wrestlers. All students will complete a body composition analysis.


ITEMS AVAILABLE IN PRIVATE SESSIONS

Strength and Conditioning Training and Education – Wrestlers are drastically different than other athletes. We teach and expect our students to train hard outside of practice, but also you will learn how to push your body to a new level of fitness. The sport is different, so we must train different. This especially holds true in weight training. Football players for example, on average play 50 plays/game. Each play consists of less than :07 seconds. Over a three-hour game they exert as much energy as wrestlers exerts in 6 minutes. We must train differently in the weight room. We incorporate strength training educational information to help you get your body in proper condition.


Nutrition Education – Education in maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet is essential for any wrestler. Good nutrition can be the difference between success and failure. Just like the whole sport of wrestling, a good diet takes planning and discipline.


Mental Training Education – Proper mental preparation for competition and practice is essential to become an elite level wrestler. The mind can be your biggest ally or biggest enemy. How many times have you seen someone so tired in a match that they can hardly stand up? After they win, they parade around ecstatically and show a sudden burst of new energy. The mind limits the body every second of every match. We explore mental training techniques to push the mind to new levels and allow your body to follow.


*Video Critique Education – Typically this feature is specific to our Private and Semi-Private Lessons. Knowing how to scout your opponents and critique oneself through video gives you an edge over your competition. Our students are trained in the art of scouting and preparing for opponents and self-critiquing through video. This is an untapped avenue for young wrestlers which is a major factor in helping your preparation. Learning from mistakes can help you improve exponentially and knowing an opponents tendencies and movements can help you prepare for big matches.
