Home of the Wrecking Crew: Welcome

Wrecking Crew Football

"We aren't rebuilding, were reloading"

Welcome to the home of the Wrecking Crew. We are a proud member of the Texas Sixman Football League(TSFL) here in San Antonio, Tx. There are 8 teams in the TSFL this year competing for the Epler Cup Championship named after the man who founded sixman football.

The team was founded by Hector Muniz Jr in 2000 coming into the league as the Mean Machine. In 2005 the name was changed to the Wrecking Crew and along with it a winning tradition. The Crew has made the playoffs every year since its inception 2005 and won the Epler Cup Championship in 2007. In 2011, the Crew advanced to the semifinals losing a close game to the eventual champions, the Tigers.

With a host of new players and merging with the former TSFL team the Ravens, the Crew is coming into the 2012 season ready to make another run at the Epler Championship.

Wrecking Crew getting ready to kickoff.

River City Christian Academy-The Crew took the first game of the regular season against the Rhinos, 33 to 7. Quarterback Jimmy Hernandez threw for 3 touchdowns and Running Back Deshuan Fisher ran for one score and caught another.  An offensive outburst that was well over due according to the Crew.

The Crew were first on the board when Hernandez hit Rene Winslow in the flat for the first of his 2 scores. The Rhinos would counter with a touchdown drive of thier own tying the game at 7. Fisher would take over from there scoring on a 40 yard rushing touchdown and a 60 yard receiving touchdown. The Crew would cruise to victory from that point.

Once again the Crew defense came to play. Lead safety Luis Mauricio, the defense held the opposing offense to less the 12 points for the third straight game. The defense had a fumble recovery, one interception and two sacks along with numerous gang tackling. That was without starting linebacker Devante Sutton who was ejected from the game for a questionable unsportsman like penalty. In a quarter and a half of play, the linebacker had 4 tackles and a sack.

Up next in week 2 for the Crew is the up and coming Pheonix. Going 2-0 into the tough part of thier schedule is critical as the hated Titans will be waiting in week 3.

Stay Tuned Folks......its about to get real!
