Worthington Kilbourne Wolves: Alumni Update



Hayden Shenefield- A 2014 Kilbourne graduate saw action in 21 games for the Polar Bears as a freshman.  He finished the season with a .297 batting avg., six doubles and eight RBI's. 

  Case Western Reserve University

Will Meador- A 2011 Kilbourne graduate finished his career at Case with a .295 batting average along with scoring 85 runs and bringing in 47 RBI's in four productive years.  Will had a solid junior season starting 40 games in the outfield and batting .275 with 3 triples.  His sophomore season was highlighted as the Spartan's everyday DH and leadoff hitter.  Will started all 43 games hitting .318 and led the team in walks with 34.  He was second on the team in runs with 39. As a freshman he saw action in five games batting .500 as a backup second baseman for the Spartans.

 Shawnee St. University

Cody Strayer-A 2011 Kilbourne graduate finished his junior season as the team's third weekend starter.  He was 1-6 in 11 starts with one complete game.  Cody had a solid sophomore season with a 5-8 record as a starting pitcher.  He threw 6 complete games and one shutout in 83 innings.  Cody spent his freshman season with the Bears as one of the top pitchers on the staff.  Cody started a team high 12 games on the mound and finished the season with a 3.71 ERA, lowest among the starting pitchers.  He led the team in complete games (3), innings pitched (85) and strikeouts (38). 

  Ohio Weslyan University 

Jack Lawson- A 2010 Kilbourne graduate finished his junior season batting .316 in 12 games. Jack saw action in 20 games as a sophomore with the Bishops starting in 11. He ended the season batting .293 with 3 doubles.  Jack appeared in three games as a freshman finishing with a .500 batting average.

Marck Paliotto  Ohio University 

Marck Paliotto- A 2009 Kilbourne graduate finished his senior season as one of three weekend starters for the Bobcats.  Marck recorded a 2-8 record with a 6.09 ERA, leading the staff in innings pitched (78.1). Marck finished his junior season wth 24 relief appearances and one start.  He ended the season with a 5.40 E.R.A. and helped guide the Bobcats to the MAC Tournament.  Marck appeared in 26 games as a relief pitcher as a sophomore and led the Bobcats with 3 saves.

  Cedarville University

Dan Petke- A 2008 Kilbourne graduate finished his senior season batting .353.  He was solid behind the plate with a .978 fielding percentage with only 6 errors all season.  Dan led the Yellow Jackets to a 38-13 season setting a school record for wins. Dan had a monster season as a junior finishing with a .359 batting average, 16 doubles, 1 triple and 33 RBI.  He was named NCCAA First Team All-American as a catcher as a junior.  Dan was also named Second Team All-AMC as a junior in 2011.

Kyle Lindquist- A 2008 Kilbourne graduate completed an impressive career at Marietta with back to back DIII national championships.  As a senior Kyle finished the season 3-0 with a 1.37 E.R.A. as the Pioneers closer.  Lindquist was a D3baseball.com first team and ABCA second team All-Region selection as well as a first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, his senior year.  He leaves Marietta with the school record for saves (28). The Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier Professional Baseball League, signed Lindquist.  Kyle was on the mound to close out the 2011 national championship game against Chapman University.  He finished the season with 12 saves (school record), a 1.70 E.R.A. in 42.1 innings earning him Second Team All-OAC honors.  As a sophomore, Kyle was named Honorable Mention All-OAC after finishing tenth nationally with seven saves.





  Marietta College  

Britt Meador- A 2007 Kilbourne graduate finished his senior season helping Marietta capture its fifth DIII national championship.  Britt was named Second Team All-OAC in 2010 after batting .400 with 52 hits including 9 doubles, 4 triples and 4 home runs.  He also added 36 RBI and 28 runs.  He missed most of his sophomore year due to injury after an impressive freshman campaign where he had the second highest batting average on the team at .385.  In 2010 Britt was also named Academic All-OAC with a 3.85 GPA in Petroleum Engineering.  In 2009 he was named Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC.


   The Ohio State University 

Jared Strayer- A 2006 Kilbourne graduate finished his senior year as one of Ohio State's most dependable arms out of the bullpen.  Jared appeared in 27 games (second highest on team), throwing 29 innings.  He finished the 2011 season with a 3.41 E.R.A. and a 4-3 record.



   The Ohio State University 

Cory Kovanda- A 2006 Kilbourne graduate started at second base for the Buckeyes all four years.  He was named a captain as a senior.  In 2009 Cory was named Second Team All-Big Ten and was the sportsmanship award winner for OSU.  In 2007 Cory was named by Ping! Baseball as a freshman All-American.  Cory was also one of five finalists for the Lowes Senior Class Award.  Check out the link below for details.  


   The Ohio State University 

Ryan Dew- A 2006 Kilbourne graduate saw significant playing time as a freshman in 2007.  Was a starter at DH, outfield and first base his last three years.  Ryan was named First Team All-Big Ten as a junior and Second Team All-Big Ten as a senior.


  Ohio Wesleyan University

A.J. Dote- A 2004 graduate of Kilbourne won the first base position his sophomore year and went on to win Third Team All-Region and First Team All-NCAC honors after leading the conference in batting. After tying for second in the NCAC with 45 RBI A.J. was named Third Team All-Region and Second Team All-NCAC as a junior.  Helped lead his team to two consecutive conference titles.

  Otterbein College

Chris Kovanda- A 2004 graduate of Kilbourne earned First Team All-OAC honors as a senior while leading Otterbein to an OAC tournament championship over Capital.  Chris also earned Second Team All-OAC honors his sophomore and junior seasons as an outfielder for the Cardinals.  His teams won OAC tournament championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007 as well as a regular season title in 2006.
