Woodland Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League: Welcome

Small Woodland Ripken

2005 & 2008
11 Year Old State Champions!

Shaping the Future of Youth Baseball
“The Ripken Way”
Why Should You Choose Woodland Cal Ripken Youth Baseball?
·        Our T-Ball program starts at age 4 and this year it is being offered for FREE!
·        Our Farm program utilizes “coach pitch” instead of a machine so players get used to hitting live pitching.
·        Our Rookie program is all “kid pitch” and introduces stealing bases by allowing second and third base steals.
·        Our Major program offers the closest thing to “Major League Baseball” for players aged 11 and 12. The games are played on a 70’ base path with the pitchers mound set 50’ from home plate. Base runners are allowed to lead off. The pitcher can pick off, balks calls are enforced by the umpire, and the ball is live on a dropped strike three.
·        We end the season with a double elimination tournament for the rookie, minor, and major divisions.
·        We participate in FIVE different all star tournaments – 8 and under, 9 year old, 10 year old, 11 year old, and 12 year old. All our top players of each age play together on one team.
·        All levels of all star play start at the State level and the winner advances to the Regional. The 10 and 12 year old Regional winners advance to the World Series.
·        We are affiliated with Woodland Babe Ruth Baseball and share information with them about our graduating 12 year olds to get them into the 13 year old fall ball program.

Please keep it clean

The league would like to ask everyone who comes out to enjoy the games at Buchignani Field and Klenhard Park to PLEASE dispose of all of your trash in the cans supplied at the parks provided by the City of Woodland.

Our volunteer staff members are pitching in and cleaning up the parks late in the evening after all of the games are completed so that we may keep these parks available to our league in the future.

Please help do your part by depositing your trash in the receptacles available at the park and help us show our pride as an exceptional youth sports league within the city of woodland.
