2010 Spring Registration

2010 Spring Registration

Registration for Woodcreek Little League Spring 2010 Baseball Season has begun.  The registration dates are listed below. If you have questions, please contact the League Registrar, Tim Peters, for more information.

The signup dates are as follows,

  • Dec 12th, 2009, 2-5pm
  • Jan 2nd, 2010, 2-5pm
  • Jan 9th, 2010, 2-5pm

Check out the 2010 Spring Registration Packet for more information.

The registration forms are now available on this Web site for download (click on 2010 Spring Ball Registration Packet above). You will also need to bring a government-issued, certified copy of your child's birth certificate with you (As of 2005, LLOA will not accept certified abstracts of birth as proof of age in California. However, ChoicePoint is providing an express birth certificate service through its VitalChek program. Click here on www.vitalchek.com to order your child’s birth certificate on-line, or you can go to the front page of the Little League of America Web site and click on “Obtaining Birth Records.”), along with 3 proofs of residency. Documents that can be used as proof of residency are the following: driver's license, voter registration card, school records, welfare/child care records, federal records, state records, local (municipal) records, support payment records, homeowner or tenant records, utility bills (i.e. gas, phone, cell phone, waste disposal), financial records (i.e. loan, credit, investment, etc.). Note: Three utility bills constitute only one document. Also, all 3 documents must be current.

Interested in coaching/team parent/etc. this Spring? Let your interests be known when registering your child. You MUST present a copy of your state-issued driver's license or identification card and fill out a 2010 Volunteer Form (Click Here). Little League baseball requires that all volunteers submit to a background check, which includes Megan's Law inquiries.

Buy a Brick Program

The Woodcreek LL Board of Directors is pleased to invite you to join your teammates, coaches, friends and WLL families in an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for yourself as part of our improvements to Mahany Park.

Our goal is to complete the existing brick area between the flagpoles and to create a lasting tribute to the baseball players, coaches and wonderful families of WLL. We need your help!

Bricks will not be available for another three to five years so get yours now!

The deadline for submitting your order forms is January 9, 2010 (LAST DAY OF SPRING SIGNUPS). We will do our best to install these by the end of the 2010 season. The price is $20 per brick.

To order, fill out the Buy a Brick Order form and bring it to one of our spring sign ups.

Spring 2010 Tryouts Information

AGE DETERMINATION

Any player eligible to participate in WLL baseball, who is league age 7-12 years old, and is NOT returning to a major division team, should attend one of the tryouts.  Depending on a player’s age, they may be required to tryout (refer to Local League Rules).  A player’s league age is their age as of April 30th, 2010.

WHO SHOULD COME TO TRYOUTS

  • In general, all 9-12 year old kids should tryout.
  • All 12 year olds not already franchised to a major division team must tryout or they will not be eligible to play
  • 10 and 11 year olds who do NOT tryout will be placed by random draw on a Minor AAA team and will not be eligible to play in Majors.
  • 9 year olds who do NOT tryout will be placed by random draw on a Minor AA team and will not be eligible to play Minor AAA or Majors.
  • 7- 8 year olds who do NOT tryout will play in the Farm division and will not be eligible for Minor AA or AAA.

THE DRAFT

The Junior, Major, Minor AAA and Minor AA division teams are determined by a draft. By signing up for Little League Baseball you may not choose which team, coach, or players your child will play with.  The final decision is left to the Managers and the local Board of Directors.

PROCESS

The Managers will attend the tryouts and evaluate each player.  All children attending tryouts will be selected in a draft by a Manager, based on the child’s ability to play. If your child is drafted on a Major team, it is because the Manager feels they have the ability to play at that level.  The same applies for other divisions.

CALL UPS

Sometimes the need arises for a Major team to call a player up from one of the lower divisions at the draft or during the season.  If this happens, the Player Agent will call the parent of the child the Manager wishes to draft up.  The child cannot, and will not be directly contacted by the Manager of any team for this purpose.  The parent will be asked if their child would like to move up.  It is a testament to a player’s skill level to be asked to move up during the season. The parent and player must notify the Player Agent within 24 hours of their decision.  If a player chooses not to move up, they forfeit any chance of being moved up again for the remainder of the season.

2010 TRYOUT SCHEDULE

Please arrive at least ½ hour prior to your scheduled time in order to check in at the registration area and have time to get warmed up.
