The high school weightlifting team won its second consecutive NVL title this season, and then the Eagles followed that up by winning a first state championship. In the NVL, the team lifted 13,565 pounds. To win the state title, the Eagles lifted a total of 13,130 pounds.

That's more than 6 ½ tons. That's a lot of metal plates for 20 boys to be hoisting on the bench, or handling in a squat, or tossing over your head in a power clean.
