The Western New York Sting is an organization dedicated to the development of young men and women through the pursuit of competitive baseball softball. The Sting has enjoyed a great deal of success both on the diamonds and in the development of fine woman athletes. Sting teams has won countless tournaments, numerous Niagara Frontier League championships and several NSA National Tournaments as well as producing numerous college athletes. In  2012, the Sting will be supporting two 10U teams, two 12U teams, two 14U teams, one  16U team and one 18U teams and an open team in addition to hardball team at the 13U level.

Sting 10U Blue captures 2nd at OP



The 10U WNY Sting earned a hard-fought second place finish in the silver division of the Orchard Park Little League Softball Tournament held May 18-19. The first year team battled back in an exciting championship game versus the New Era Diamond Girls, but lost 7-6 in the final inning. Pitchers Emma Wlostowski (West Seneca) and Torrie Jenkins (Cheektowaga) each threw a no-hitter in preliminary round play. The Sting were bolstered by the defensive play of Kristin Stockman (Williamsville) at shortstop, Maddie Mazur (Lancaster) at second base, and catcher Katelyn Scioli (Amherst). Solid outfield play of Olivia Foley (Lancaster), Lia Franzone (Lancaster), Stephanie Herrnreiter (Lancaster), and Lexi Odrobina (Lancaster) was integral in helping the girls reach the champion game. Offensively, the team was led by Loren Castilloux (Orchard Park) who had 5 hits and drove in 4 runs. Slugger Jenkins doubled 3 times and had 3 RBIs. Stockman added 6 hits and 9 stolen bases. Lead-off hitter Wlostowski also recorded 4 hits and 8 stolen bases. The Sting are coached by John Stockman, Cindy Wlostowski, and PJ Odrobina.

Sting Baseball Strikes First



Jerry Hickson and the Sting Baseball Team struck first this season by capturing 2nd place at the North Tonawanda Babe Ruth Tournament this past weekend. Great Job Boys!!!!!!

Sting Open Player Making Headlines at Grove City



Faith Jentsch (WNY STING Open - Mattison) fired a six-hit shutout and earned her 10th win of the season at Grove City. Jentsch struck out four in seven innings.

Softball in the Hive Pony Qualifier Announced



The WNY Sting and Pony Nationals have come to an agreement for the Sting to host a Pony National Qualifing tournament on the weekend of June 15th to June 17th at Lasalle Park in Buffalo NY. Bob Cohen, the tournament director, has worked dilegently with the City of Buffalo and is very exicted about the downtown venue!!!!! The cost of the tournament is $425 and includes a 4 game guarentee.

Interested coaches should access the attached handout for instructions on registration.

Another incredible weekend for the Sting organization!!!!!! While the 10U team was fighting their way to an incredible 3rd place finish in the ASA Nationals in York PA, the 14U Blue team WON the NSA Championship in Indiana!!!!!!!
