                                      West Monroe vs Barbe

Well, all the hipe is about out of the way and it's time to get down to business!

Barbe is no doubt a great ballclub, but the Rebels are not too bad themselves.

From my experience with this group of players, they play with heart and have

had one goal in mind, to win.  I have no doubt about it, they are ready!

Go Rebs!

Here's a message from Rebels fans fighting for our safety overseas!

Hey yall, I also wanted to post this message real quick. My dad is in the army and is deployed to Afhganistan. He is stationed at Fort Polk and wanted me to write this message from him to all the players and fans. He cant get on certain websites due to security purposes, but he can get on to listen to LA 105.3 He wanted me to post this so the players may read it. If anyone out there knows how to get this to the players and coaches please do so. He wants to remain annonimous so we just call him "CaptainRebel" Thanks!!

"To the West Monroe Rebels Football Program...It has been a few years since you found yourselves in such a well placed round in the playoffs, and I want to send my congrat's to you all for such an outstanding season. The season is not over yet and its up to you all if you want to get to the dome. We believe you can do it. Im sending this message from 6,000 miles away and wanted you to know that even though our unit is not at home and I cant make the game, we will be listening and cheering you on. Believe it or not there are quite a few people from West Monroe here with me, and will be tuned in to the game. We want to hear the Rebel Faithfull behind you and we know we will. This is your opportunity to shine for yourselves, coaches, family and everyone who believes in you, including yourselves. Go out there friday night, execute your assignments the coaches have instructed for you and make it happen. Lets do it Rebels. Barbe may be a good team this year, but you are better....Lets get back to where we belong. From the mountains of Afghanistan..."Go get em' Rebels."

West Monroe fans need to kick it up another notch this week!

We need to hear the roar that we had back in the 90's.

Tailgating will start early and it should be standing room only!

Cox Sports will be broadcasting the game live as the game of the week!

Barbe comes in with a very impressive record of 12-0.

This should be a interesting matchup with Barbe's high powered offense.

Barbe had 379 yard of offense, but the key was the 4 turnovers in the

first half by Thibodaux that helped Barbe move on.

Barbe took advantage of Thibodaux's turnovers and an 11 yard punt to

convert on scoring drives of 41, 65, 25, 40 and 30 yards

122 yards rushing and 217 passing. Thibodaux had 7 turnovers in this game.

Ernest Celestie scored 3 touchdowns and the Barbe defense forced 7 turnovers,

returning one for a score. Celestie is like Tyler Cain, he runs the ball, he'll get

some catches and returns punts and kickoffs.

QB Eric Cutrera completed 16 of 26 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

                                 West Monroe 37  Ouachita 16

The Rebels came out and scored early and never looked back. The Rebels

fell behind early with a safety, but they got the ball back and drove the

field and kicked a field goal to take a 3-2 lead.

The Rebels then scored 21 unanswered points to go in at the half 24-2.

Ouachita came back in the 2nd half to close the gap to 24-16 before

the Rebels took control again on a 79 td run by D.J. Banks. Banks had 104 yards

and 2 td's on the night.

LaDarius Abrams had 134 yards and 2 td's on 21 carries.

The Rebel's DeFense blocked a punt and Jordan Allen recovered it for

a td. Jonas Tyson had 2 picks for the Rebels.

West Monroe 41  St. Thomas More 28

West Monroe came out flat and fell behind 21-0 and it did not look good for the

#1 seed in the first half. West Monroe's LaDarius Abrams then scored to make it 21-6

and looked to have a little momentum. The DeFense held and Eric Talton scores

to make it 21-13. St. Thomas More then took it all the way again making it

28-13. On the kickoff by St. Thomas More, Carl Turner took the ball around the

2 yard line and took it 98 yards for a td. West Monroe made the 2 ponit

conversion and went at the half only down 28-21.

The 2nd half was a different story. West Monroe's DeFense held St. Thomas More

scoreless and the Rebels had new life. Barkevious Mingo blocked a punt and

then recovered it and ran it in for a td tieing the score 28-28.

West Monroe held again and D.J. Banks scored making it 35-28.

Again the DeFense held and West Monroe took the ball and score on a run by

LaDarius Abrams making the final 41-28. LaDarius had 227 yards on 17 carries.

All I can say is wow! What a game! If you missed this game, you missed a

heck of a ballgame.

I want to thank David Pearson, the softball coach and Director of Technolgy

at St. Thomas More for the great experience that we had at St Thomas More.

David made sure that our crew had plenty to eat and that we had everything that we

needed for the radio broadcast and internet feeds. You are a great person and

an asset to St. Thomas More. This is probably the best experience that I have ever

had at an opposing team's place in my 30 years of doing high school football and I

have been just about everywhere!

                              West Monroe 56  Scotlandville 34

West Monroe scored anytime they wanted and led at the half 42-0.
The  subs came in and could not hold onto the ball and Scotlandville
was able to score several td's by the offensive misques.
The Rebels starting DeFense did not give up any points, but you have to
let the other players play in a game like this.
LaDarius Abrams had 124 yards on 20 carries and 2 td's.
D.J. Banks had 69 yards on 9 carries and a td and passed for
135 yards and a td.
Total yards rushing 266, passing 135 and 407 yards of offense.
Tyler Cain had a 70 yard punt return for a td and 3 receptions for
71 yards and a td.

Week 10 is here and the Rebels are picking up steam!

With a win this week, the Rebels should be no lower than a

#2 seed out of 32. West Monroe could be #1 by my projections.
