Welcome to the Chris Finwood Baseball Camp at Western Kentucky University

Dear Parents and Campers,

Thank you for showing interest in the Western Kentucky baseball program. Throughout the year we will provide camps for all ages. Each camp will provide the players with specific instruction concerning hitting, pitching, defensive, and positioning. The instruction will be provided by the Western Kentucky coaching staff as well other college coaches and professional scouts.

All camps will take place on beautiful Nick Denes Field. Through the recent renovations and improvments, Nick Denes field has become one of the nicest facilities in the country. The indoor facility, which contains three full size retractable cages and one retractable square cage, provides sufficient space to run offensive and defensive rotations.

 July Youth Camp

The WKU Baseball program will be offering a youth baseball camp to all those wanting to learn the proper fundamentals of the game. Hitting, throwing, fielding and position specific instruction are covered during each session by the coaching staff. All of the techniques and drills are used on a daily basis by the WKU Baseball team.  Each camper is guaranteed to have a fun and exciting time at camp while learning the proper mechanics.

This is a camp for 9th through 12th grade players interested in playing at the college level. 

• Staff: WKU coaching staff and Pro scouts (Mets, Phillies, Pirates, Rockies and Reds have attended in the past)

• Cost: $150 (We will take the first 100 to sign up)

 • Facilities: Nick Denes Field, Western Kentucky University and Bowling Green High School

• Schedule: On Sunday morning, players will go through a pro style workout and will be provided instruction in hitting and pitching. The afternoon will consist of batting practice in front of the Western coaches and games on Nick Denes Field.

• Notes: Eighteen signees in WKU’s previous two recruiting class attended WKU camps. All campers will receive a Western Kentucky Baseball t-shirt.

Western Kentucky Baseball Academy:

The academy offers the opportunity for ball players to improve on their skills during the off-season.  Under guidance from the WKU coaching staff, each player will be able to work on hitting, fielding, and catching.  All session will take place at Nick Denes Field's indoor facility.  The academy offers hourly session packages and group packages which provide the flexibility to choose the time and date of each sessions at a discounted price per session. Age: 7 years old through Senior in High School.  High school players must purchase a minimum of 5 sessions. Facility: Nick Denes Field and Indoor Hitting Facility.

Schedule: Hourly Sessions:  7 days a week.
