FIELD HOCKEY 2009

The Semi-Final game will be played on Friday, 10/30, at 5:00PM against Pinkerton at Exeter's Bill Ball Stadium.  Tournament team players will practice on Thursday on the WHS Field Hockey fields at 3:15PM.  

Thanks to everyone who made Senior Day such a success.  Decorations and balloons were everywhere creating a special day for our Seniors--Amanda Glynn, Robin Hunt, Liz Silva, Melissa Grant, Amy Croteau, Holly McCay and Meghan Durant.  Listening to Amy Croteau sing a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem was a treat for everyone to hear--great job Amy!  Maegan Grew's lone goal off a penalty stroke made it a sweet day all the way around.  Goffstown came to play and kept the Warriors working for the win.  After the game an Italian meal of pasta, salad and bread was enjoyed by everyone.  It was difficult to cut the Field Hockey cake created by Nancy Grant but after the first cut everyone jumped right in for a piece.  Jess Brown, the Goffstown coach, raved about how gracious and inviting our team was to them for this event.  Once again our parents have outdone themselves in creating a fun and festive afternoon for our players.  Thank you to all for your time, effort and energy.

And now onto tournament... 

The brackets will be posted early Monday morning, October 19, on the www.nhiaa.org web site.  WHS will finish in second place and draw a bye for the first preliminary round.  We will play the winner of the 7 and 11 seed for the quarterfinal round to be played on Saturday, October 24.  The time for the quarterfinal game is TBA even though it is listed as 3:30.  We will try to move it to an earlier time in the afternoon.
