Jr. Honda (17 cars) – Kaitlyn is starting out this year in her brand new black Talon car with purple roll cage! She is thrilled! Today is batch qualifying. She ends up being in a group that has a car that keeps spinning out so she can’t quite get the car up to a good speed. She posts a time of 7.303 which will give her 13th fastest out of the 17 drivers. She will have to start in the D-Main.
D-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 2nd out of 5 cars for 20 laps. She gets down into 3rd at the green and runs there most of the race. She finally catches and passes for 2nd place with about 9 laps to go. She catches the leader with less than 5 laps. She goes low into turn 3 for the pass, but the other car would force her to hit the speed bumps so she gets off the gas to straighten out her car and not go DOT. She hits the gas coming out of turn 4 trying to catch the leader as the white flag flies. She has a good lead on the 3rd place car so she crosses the finish line in 2nd! She’s going to the C-Main!
C-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 4th out of 8 cars for 20 laps. The top 4 will transfer. Yellow is out right after the green flag so she lines up in 4th single file. She takes 3rd place at the restart and then passes for 2nd when the yellow is out with 15 to go. She is still running in 2nd when a wreck brings out the RED FLAG with 9 laps to go. After more NUMEROUS cautions, she is still in 2nd. The field finally goes green for the last 4 laps. Kaitlyn is all over the leader’s bumper to finish 2nd again! She’s going to the B-Main!
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 5th out of 8 cars this time for 20 laps. The top 4 transfer. She gets shuffled at the start and falls to 7th. The race goes green till 9 laps to go just as she is catching cars. She lines up 7th and makes 2 really nice passes to get up to 5th, but the 4 leaders are too far ahead by the time the checkered flag flies. She finishes 5th! She’s the “X” car for the A-Main.
A-Main – A car has left allowing Kaitlyn to race in the A! She will start 8th out of 8. There’s no warm-up laps. The race is 25 laps or 15 minutes. She gets into 6th at the green flag. Kaitlyn tries to pass for 5th when she spins out with 11 laps to go! She goes back to 8th spot. She stays there to finish 8th!! What a way to start out her Jr. Honda year in a new car! Fantastic racing sissy!!

Her First Regional
NCQMA Regionals (Rain out)

Jr. Honda (24 cars) – Kaitlyn isn’t running regionals this year, but we decided to let her try our home regional to see how she does against other competition. She does really, really good in single car qualifying! She has a fast time of 6.920 which puts her 9th fastest out of 24 drivers. This has her starting in the C-Main.
C-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 4th out of 8 cars for 25 laps. The top 4 will transfer. She settles down into 6th place. She passes for 5th then 2 cars wreck in front of her. She spins out the car to avoid the wreck. She lines up in 6th. The rest of the race goes green, and she doesn’t pass any more cars. She will finish her first regional at NCQMA in 6th place. It wouldn’t have mattered if she had transferred or not because the rest of the Jr. Honda races were rained out!

Jr. Honda (17 cars) – Kaitlyn is in heat race #3. She is starting 5th out of 5 cars for 20 laps. She is running in 5th when the first caution is out with 15 to go, and she lines up in 4th. She gets 3rd after the car in front of her wiggles. She then passes for 2nd, but as luck would have it, the passes don’t count because the caution comes out. With 10 to go, she lines back up in 4th, makes the pass for 3rd but can’t catch the first 2 cars. She finishes in 3rd.
C-Main – Kaitlyn is starting in 3rd out of 8 cars for 20 laps. The top 5 transfer. She gets the LEAD at the green flag! She falls to 2nd a couple laps later, and she and the lead car check out on the rest of the field. The first caution comes out with 4 laps to go. She lines up in 2nd and finishes there. She’s going to the B!
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting in the 4 hole out of the 8 cars because a novice move-up had to start in the back of the field. It’s 20 laps and top 5 transfer. She takes the green flag and is running on the outside going into the corner when 2 cars push up into her in turn 2 CAUSING HER CAR TO BARREL ROLL AND FLIP UP on end hitting the fence and turn 2 light coming to rest on its side!! RED FLAG is out. Daddy gets over to her, and Kaitlyn is smiling from one ear to the other saying “that was fun”! By some miracle, she and the car are fine to continue. She lines up 4th. The race restarts. The field fans out, and she stays where she is. After a wild ride, she finishes this one in 4th. Good enough to transfer to the A!
A-Main – After checking the car over good, Kaitlyn is ready to start in 7th spot out of 8 Jr. Honda drivers. She falls into 8th at the start after getting bumped and losing some speed. She lines up 7th at the first yellow but falls to 8th again and can’t pass the car in front of her that was running the middle of the track. Next yellow is out with 6 to go when a car spins out. She slows down and gets hit in the rear end causing her car to spin out. She lines up 6th, falls to 7th a couple laps later and finally to last by the checkered flag. Kaitlyn will finish this one in 8th. Not a bad day after the flip she took.

Heat Races Again

Jr. Honda (13 cars) – Kaitlyn is starting 4th out of 6 cars for 20 laps. The top 2 transfer to the A. She gets down in the 5th spot after the green and is running there for quite a few laps till she finally gets enough confidence to start passing cars 1 by 1. She is up to 3rd, but the leader has a big lead. The field is taking the white flag when she passes for 2nd. The other car starts to pass her back on the backstretch when it dives under her in turns 3 and 4. They bump, and both spin out bringing out the yellow with 1 lap to go! The other car gets the call so Kaitlyn lines up 2nd for the green/white restart. She keeps her position! Finishes 2nd! Going to the A! Good girl!!
A-Main – Kaitlyn is starting on the POLE out of 8 cars for 25 laps. She takes the LEAD at the start and holds onto it for a couple laps then she gets passed. She lines up 2nd at the first caution but falls to 3rd on the restart and runs there till the next yellow that comes out with 7 laps to go. She lines up 3rd but falls to 4th on the restart till the checkered flag flies. Nice 4th place finish! (Sissy definitely needs to work on her restarts.)

Bad Bet Dad!
Batch Qualifying and a Winning Bet!

Jr. Honda (13 cars) – Kaitlyn is on a mission today. She has been bugging for a pair of Heelys so Daddy has told her that if she wins a race this weekend that he will buy her a pair! She takes the track for batch qualifying and posts her fastest time so far this year of a 6.846 making her 8th fastest. This will give her a great starting spot in the B-Main!
B-Main – Kaitlyn has the POLE position for this 20-lap race. She takes off at the green flag and is leading when the first caution comes out with 16 laps to go. She falls to 2nd after the restart, but she has the leader in her sights. She also knows she is one position away from winning her bet with Daddy. She catches the lead car and takes her chance. She passes for the LEAD with about 8 laps to go and keeps it! Kaitlyn WINS the B-Main and her bet with Dad!!
A-Main – Kaitlyn will start 5th out of 8 cars for 25 laps. A car is in the pits at time so she has to move to the 4th spot. She settles down into 5th place after the green and is running there when the first yellow is out with 19 laps to go. The next caution is out with 7 laps to go then a RED FLAG for a wreck. She had fallen back to 7th but lines up 5th after the wreck. With 4 laps to go, she hits the brakes hard and spins her car out to avoid a spun car in the groove, and she gets t-boned hard! She stays on the track to finish the race, but her car doesn’t look like it’s working right. She loses one spot. She comes across the start/finish line in 6th!

Jr. Honda (14 cars) – Kaitlyn is in heat race #1. She is starting 7th out of 7 cars for 20 laps. The top 2 go to the A. She is up to 5th after the first lap. She catches the 4th place car with 5 laps to go and stays there till the checkered flag. She will come across the line in 4th after the car in front of her spins out on the last lap. Nice job sissy!
B-Main – Kaitlyn will start 3rd out of 8 cars for 20 laps. The top 4 will transfer. She settles into 4th and keeps trying to pass the car in front of her for 3rd, but he keeps changing his line and messing her up. She holds onto 4th to transfer! Caution free race! Going to the A!
A-Main – Kaitlyn starts 8th out of 8 for 25 laps. She falls into last after the green. She won’t pass the 7th place car. Her car keeps biking in the corners causing her to lift on the gas. First caution is out with only 6 laps to go keeping her from being lapped! She lines up 7th. There’s a BAD wreck in front of her with 1 to go so she spins out her car. RED FLAG out. On the restart, she lines up 4th with a lap to go. The car behind her dives low on the green/white restart, and she loses 2 spots. She finishes this race in 6th!

Jr. Honda (9 cars) – Kaitlyn is getting very comfortable in her new Talon now. She posts her new fastest time so far of 6.833 during batch qualifying to make her 4th fastest.
A-Main – Kaitlyn is starting on the POLE out of 9 cars for 25 laps or 10 minutes. Car #3 that is behind her dives under her for the lead at the green flag start so she tucks behind him to take 2nd. She is still running in 2nd when the caution comes out with 23 laps to go. She loses a spot on the restart (still her weakness). She is in 3rd with 18 to go. Time runs out with 15 laps left. They race till the next yellow or the finish. She keeps 3rd on the restart and stays there till another caution is out with 9 to go. Race is over. She finishes 3rd!!

No A-Main Today

Jr. Honda (13 cars) – Kaitlyn stays consistent in her batch qualifying. She runs a fast lap of 6.833 which is the same as her last batch qualifying time. This one puts her 7th fastest though.
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 2nd out of 8 cars for 20 laps or 12 minutes. The top 4 transfer. She gets down into 4th place after the start then falls to 5th. The yellow is out with 6 laps to go, and she lines up 4th. She is running in 4th on the white flag lap. The leader takes the checkered flag, and the 2nd and 3rd place cars wreck in front of Kaitlyn coming out of turn 4. She hits the brakes and spins her car out INCHES away from the start/finish line! Her car goes sideways, and the rest of the field behind her except 1 car wrecks also!! She is scored in 5th with a DNF.
A-Main – Kaitlyn is the “X” car for this race. No one wrecks or breaks in warm-up so the race goes green, and she doesn’t make it in.

New Rule and Mother Nature

Jr. Honda (15 cars) – A new rule goes into effect for Tuesday night races. Only classes with more than an A-Main will batch qualify. So with more than 8 or 9 cars, the Jr. Honda drivers will have to qualify. Kaitlyn is in the last batch to go out. She is a little off from her last time, but she still does pretty good. She runs a 6.882 making her 6th fastest. Rain is in the area, and this will be the only class to hit the track before the skies open up. There are 2 rain delays before the handlers meeting. Races are cancelled at 7:45PM. The Jr. Honda drivers are awarded points for where they qualified so Kaitlyn will receive 6th place points for the night.

Finally New Tires!

Jr. Honda (17 cars) – Kaitlyn is in the last batch of cars to qualify again today. Daddy has finally helped her out by giving her a set of new tires and not “hand me downs” from Nicholas! She does excellent!! She runs her fastest time ever of a 6.663 which is 2nd fastest putting her straight into the A-Main!!
A-Main – Kaitlyn will start 3rd out of 8 cars for 25 laps. The #5 car gets under her at the green flag start, but she tucks into 4th place and is running there when the first yellow comes out with 16 laps to go. She loses 2 spots on the restart (still needs work in this area) and runs there till the checkered flag. She finishes in 6th!

Jr. Honda (Practice Round #1) – Kaitlyn is out on the track with 7 cars for 3 minutes. She looks really good. She doesn’t get in any accidents, but she does get stuck behind a slower car and won’t pass.
Practice and Qualifying Day

Jr. Honda (Practice Round #2) – Kaitlyn is looking a lot better this session and more comfortable on the track. She is out with 7 cars for 3 minutes again. The practice goes mostly green flag. She is making some beautiful passes in this round. Daddy looks happy.
Jr. Honda (Qualifying-61 cars) – The Silver City QMA club has decided to start qualifying tonight so Kaitlyn will hit the track about the time the sun is going down. It’s after 8PM, and she is about the 27th car to qualify. She goes out and gives it her best shot posting a fast time of 6.915. This puts her 22nd fastest so she’ll start in the F-Main.

Jr. Honda (F-Main) – Kaitlyn is starting 3rd out of 8 cars for this race. It is 25 laps or 20 minutes. The top 4 will transfer. She gets 3rd place at the green flag. She makes a nice pass and is up to 2nd with about 15 laps left. A car catches her and passes her with 8 to go. She takes the checkered flag in 3rd! Caution free race. Going to the E!
Jr. Honda (E-Main) – Kaitlyn is starting 7th out of 8 cars for 25 laps or 20 minutes. The top 4 will transfer. She gets shuffled back to 8th after the start. She and another driver get passing each other back and forth for several laps battling for 7th position. They finally quit passing and begin to catch the other cars. She gets up to 6th and tries to make a pass for 5th, but other cars catch up to her and pass her. She loses a position and will finish this race in 7th! Another caution free race! She doesn’t transfer, but she did some really nice racing! Way to go sissy!! We’re very proud of you!

Jr. Honda (17 cars) – Kaitlyn is in heat race #1 today. She is starting 3rd out of 6 cars for 20 laps. Only the winner goes straight to the A-Main. She gets 2nd at the start. She is still running in 2nd when she gets hit by the car behind her in turn 1 with 15 laps left. She gets her spot back and lines up in 2nd. She keeps her position on the restart (finally) and stays there till the checkered flag flies. She finishes 2nd!
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting on the POLE out of 8 cars for 20 laps. The top 5 will transfer today. She gets the LEAD at the green flag and keeps it for 3 laps then falls to 2nd and is running there with about 10 laps to go when 2 cars catch up to her and pass her. She falls to 4th and stays there till the end. Caution free race! She finishes 4th and transfers to the A!
A-Main – Kaitlyn starts 7th out of 8 cars for 25 laps. She gets 5th spot at the start and is running there when the first caution comes out with 13 to go. She lines up in 4th. She keeps 4th on the restart (gee, is she figuring it out?) till a few laps later when 2 cars get under her and pass her. She tucks in behind them and finishes in 6th! Nice racing girl!

Another Good Night!

Jr. Honda (14 cars) – Kaitlyn has another excellent batch qualifying time for tonight! She runs a 6.675 for 3rd fastest putting her directly in the A-Main again.
A-Main – Kaitlyn will start on the outside of the pole in 2nd out of 8 cars for 25 laps or 15 minutes. She does great and gets 2nd spot after the green, but the #3 and #4 cars wreck before the lap is complete so Kaitlyn lines up 2nd in single file. She actually takes the LEAD on the restart for about 5 laps! Way to go sissy!! She gets passed and falls to 2nd, then 3rd with about 13 to go. She eventually loses another position, but she’ll lap one car before the checkered flag. She crosses the line in 4th!

More New Rules and Some Bad Luck

Jr. Honda (14 cars) – The board members have decided to add some more new rules for the Tuesday night races. Now there will be no warm-up laps, and instead of 5 courtesy laps during cautions, there will only be 2 laps. Kaitlyn has another really good batch qualifying time for her, but tonight it isn’t fast enough to put her in the A. She posts a time of 6.685, but that will only be good enough for 6th fastest so she’ll start in the B.
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 3rd out of 8 cars for 20 laps or 15 minutes with the top 4 to transfer. She hits the wall coming out onto the track then she gets hit and spins out at the green flag. She gets a DOT and goes to the rear of the field in 8th. She spins out again as they restart giving her a 2nd DOT. There are cars wrecking at both ends of the track as they try to go green again. Four cars roll into the pits. Apparently something has happened to Kaitlyn’s car. She is broken and doesn’t come back out to finish the race. She is scored in 8th place with a DNF. No A-Main for Kaitlyn tonight.

Patriotism and Another A-Main!

Jr. Honda (18 cars) – Kaitlyn is chosen to carry the US flag today on her car during the National Anthem! She is very proud. She also has an awesome qualifying effort today! She runs a fast lap of 6.637 (her best so far) making her 4th fastest out of 18 drivers. She’s going straight to the A-Main!
A-Main – Kaitlyn’s qualifying time has her starting on the POLE out of 8 cars for 25 laps. She takes the LEAD at the start and keeps it for a full lap then falls to 2nd. Caution comes out with 22 to go. She lines up in 2nd. The 3rd place car behind her taps her and spins her out on the restart. She gets a flat tire and has to come into the pits. She lines back up in 8th and stays there after the restart. Yellow flag is out again with 14 to go. She lines up in 7th. A car comes off the track under green and then another car DOTs. With 5 to go, she lines up 6th. Kaitlyn stays in the back till the checkered flag and brings it home in 6th!!

Jr. Honda (13 cars) – Kaitlyn’s time is way off on her qualifying tonight, but so is everyone else’s. It’s her last Summer Series race, and she is hoping to make the A-Main. She posts a fast lap of only 7.464 (fast time for the class was a 6.892). This makes her 7th fastest so she’ll have to start in the B.
B-Main – Kaitlyn is starting 2nd out of 8 cars for 15 laps or 10 minutes. The top 4 will transfer. The #5 car keeps jumping the start so the flagman brings out the RED FLAG to talk to the drivers. The field FINALLY takes the green flag. Kaitlyn does great and gets 2nd place after the start. She runs there for a few laps till falling to 3rd. She stays there till the end. Caution free race! She finishes in 3rd and transfers to the A!
A-Main – Kaitlyn will start this race in 7th out of 8 cars for 25 laps or 10 minutes. She gets bumped by the #6 car, and the last 3 cars go into the wall. Not sure if the judges made a call or gave them DOTs. She lines up 7th and is running there after the restart till the car behind her passes her with about 15 laps left. Caution is out with 10 to go. Kaitlyn lines up in 7th again. She makes a nice pass to finish the race in 6th!! Kaitlyn will finish the Summer Series in 7th place overall. Nice job!

Her Last Jr. Honda Race!!

Jr. Honda (18 cars) – Kaitlyn is in heat race #3 for her last weekend race of the year. She turns 9 tomorrow and will have to move up to the competitive Sr. Honda class. She is starting 5th out of 6 cars for 20 laps. Only 1st place goes straight to the A-Main. She gets 3rd at the green flag start. She is passing for 2nd when they bump tires but keep going! The leader spins out with 4 to go. Kaitlyn is now the LEADER!!! She has a great restart and keeps the LEAD as the checkered flag flies. She WINS on her last Jr. Honda race day and is going to the A-Main!!
A-Main – Kaitlyn is starting her last Jr. Honda A-Main race on the POLE! There’s 8 cars for 25 laps. She gives it the gas at the green flag and keeps the LEAD for a lap or two. Cars are lined up behind her. As one gets under her, she goes high and loses positions back to 5th. The 6th place car tries to pass her, and they bump. That car spins out, but Kaitlyn keeps going. With 19 laps left, she lines up 5th. She goes to pass for 4th when she and the other car spin out. WOW – birthday luck must be with her! She gets her spot back as the judges make a call on the other driver. She lines up 4th and runs there till the next caution with 5 laps to go. There is a 3-car wreck behind her that brings out the RED FLAG with 3 laps left! There are several restarts. She does great at protecting her position. She crosses the start/finish line in 4th!! She will finish an overall 6th place for the weekend series! Awesome racing this year sissy girl!!
