EAST JV WINS IN SEMI FINAL 2-1
Nick Bordonaro's goal in the  shootout and superb goaltending from Jake Lewis enabled East to defeat Canisius 2-1 and move into the championship game for the first time in league history. After a scoreless  first 2 periods, which had Canisius outshooting East 14-12, Mike Sarcinelli took a clearing pass from Luke Sokolowski and got behind the Canisius defense to give East a 1-0 lead at 1:36 of the final period.  It stayed that way until 2:28 was left when Canisius scored a powerplay goal to tie the game. Canisus outshot East 9-5 in the period and 23-17 for regulation.  In the first OT, each team had a couple chances, but failed to convert. In the 2OT, it was much the same. Each team had 10 shots in the OT sessions. The entire game was exciting as well as a nail-biter at the same time.  But now it was time for the shootout. East Coach Pat Annese picked Mike Sarcinelli,Nick Bordonaro, and Ryan Schmelzer as his first 3 shooters. Sarcinelli went first and lost control of the puck as he attempted a deke. Canisius player was stopped by Lewis as he attempted a deke. Bordonaro was next and he pulled the goalie and scored on a back handed shot. The next Canisius player shot high over the net. Schmelzer was up for East and battling a puck on its edge was unable to beat the goaltender. On Canisius's last attempt to score Lewis came up with another enormous save and the celebration was on.

ONE GAME SHORT
D 2 07 08 Champions!!!
07 08 D-2 Champs

The Williamsville East JV team fell one game short of winning the NFJV league champioship. Timon defeated East 5-1 Sunday for the championship.  After giving their all and thensome on Friday in the 2-1 double OT/shootout win over Canisius, the team was running on empty against a determined Timon team.  Peter Elliott got East off early scoring unassisted at 3:40. But that would be it offensively. Jake Lewis was left to himself several times and still made several quality saves while the score was 3-1 Timon after a period. Lewis kept the team's hopes alive for the 2nd period and early in the final period, but the offense couldn't get untracked.

Overall, a great season, East was Div.2 small school champions, Nick Bordonaro was the co-leader in the points scoring race (42 Points) and led the league in assists with 24. Both were NFJV records!!  The team record in league play was 16-2-1,best ever for a East JV team. Also in the top 10 in scoring were Mike Sarcinelli (27 Points),Dan Feldman (27 points), and Ryan Schmelzer (24 points).  The team led the league in goals with 111, assists with 147 and in powerplay goals with 19.  East also was tied for 2nd in team defense with just 31 goals allowed in the 19 league games.
