Willamette Little League: Welcome
Little League, founded in 1939 in Williamsport PA by Carl E Stotz, is the largest youth sports program with more then 2.8 million children and 1 million volunteers in more then 100 countries. More then 30 million people, like Kevin Costner in Saticoy Little League in CA, have played in Little League programs.
Portsmouth LL merged into Pier Park LL in 2004 to form Willamette Little League. We serve the youth of North Portland from the west side of Chatauqua to the Willlamette and Columbia rivers.
Little League is a program of service to the youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation.
The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It strives to inspire them with a goal and to enrich their lives towards the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play.
We need your help! Willamette Little League functions on 100% volunteers. Contact us to find out how you can join in the effort to provide the Little League experience for hundreds of children in our area. Volunteers are needed to fill positions for board members, officers, managers and coaches; please contact Amy at 503-978-9678
All volunteers need to complete a volunteer application form and submit it to WLL. This applies to anyone who will come in contact with the kids, even if they are just warming up the kids on the field, playing catch, or helping the coach/manager in any way!!! Note that a readable copy of the drivers license is required. It must have the current address and expiration date on the copy. For some older/renewed Oregon licenses this means we need a copy of both sides.
