Season Starts with Win!
Congratulations to the Bhoys for a solid start to the season. With strong ball movement, consistent team communication, and solid finishing, Celtic began the season with a satisfying win over the Wizards. A late Wizards goal prevented the shut out and gave their fans something to cheer about, but the result was never in question after the Bhoys raced to a five-goal advantage at the half. The route was on as that advantage doubled in the first 15 minutes of the second half, but it was great to see the team continue to focus on team play and smart possession through the end of the game.
The next opponent for Celtic is still unknown as the Fall Kick-Off Classic still hasn't announced the scheduled for the 8/28-8/29 tournament. However, with another week of practice to improve as a team, it's safe to say the Bhoys will head into the tournament with positive momentum.

SCSA Fall 2010 Divisions Announced
SCSA has released the list of teams in our division this fall, and we'll be one of 10 teams fighting for the league title. Lightning, Magia, and Cholita return from the U12A Division; FC Roar (now grown to two teams), EFC, and the girls (WFC Strikers) return from the U12B Division; and that leaves the Wizards as the new team on the block. Go get 'em, Bhoys!

Fall Practice Schedule
That's right, it's already time for Fall Practice to begin! This season we'll be practicing every MONDAY and THURSDAY instead of Tuesday and Thursday. Practices also move from 90 minutes up to two hours, so make sure the boys bring plenty of water and avoid large meals before practice.
From Monday, July 19th through August 12th, we'll practice from 7-9 pm.
Starting August 16th we'll move practice up to 6-8pm.

Congratulations to our U12 Bhoys who placed as Finalists at the KCI Tournament over Memorial Day weekend! The Bhoys made it to finals in every tournament they attended this past spring...placing as finalists at Champions Cup and KCI...winning 1st place at Governors Cup!

Head Coach: Kevin Kewley
Wichita Celtic Football Club has been fortunate to have Kevin Kewley as our Head Coach since 2005.
Early Career
He brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience, both in the States and abroad. As a young man of 16 living in Liverpool, England, Kevin signed for Liverpool Football Club as an apprentice, and signed as a professional with them at 17.
NASL Dallas Tornado
In 1977 he came to the States on loan to the NASL Dallas Tornado and signed permanently with them in 1978. Kewley made 95 appearances for the Tornado, and scored 16 goals.
Wichita Wings
In 1980, he was traded to the Wichita Wings of the MISL. During his tenure with the Wings, Kewley (known to his fans as “The Tiger”) made 360 appearances and scored 113 goals. Kevin was the 16th highest scorer in the MISL in 1980-81. He was named Player/Asst. Coach in 1989 and retired in 1990. He was honored at that time by having his #8 Wings Jersey officially retired. He returned to the Wings organization in 1995 as assistant coach and was named Head Coach in 1998.
Pratt Community College
Throughout his time in Wichita, Coach Kewley has coached numerous club teams in and around Wichita. Many of his players have gone on to play and/or coach soccer at higher levels. In December, 2009, Pratt Community College appointed Kewley as Head Men’s Soccer Coach, charged with building the program from the ground up. Kevin’s association with Pratt, as well as his involvement with Wichita soccer, is an exciting opportunity for Kansas players to have the possibility to be able play soccer at a collegiate level while receiving a quality education.
