Welcome to 2007 East Troy Express Baseball!
Welcome to the Express Web site.
Wednesday, June 20
Future appears bright as Express schedule softens. Rookies begin to make impact.
The Express split the weekend games of June 16th and 17th, winning at home against Dousman 14-2 and then losing at North Prairie 6-2. The Express played the Dousman Frogs short handed as a number of players were at Rob Piedot's bachelor party. The young guns were led by Jory Tess, making his 2nd start in right field, who collected 2 hits and a couple of RBI's. New catcher Ryan Kehl, just back from college in Seattle, Washington, was solid behind the dish and also collected his 1st lol hit. Tim Schaffer made his 1st LOL start on the hill, was dominant, allowing only 1 hit and struck out 14 Frogs. Todd Nabor, making a rare start in leftfield, hit a Grand slam homerun and also doubled off the wall. Adam Wolters, who played in center, also homered and drove in 2. Former East Troy High school player Matt Lange also joined the club and saw some action late in the game. In his only at-bat, Lange tripled to deep right center. He appears to have a future in the Express organization, although his best position appears to be center, Matt can also potentially throw some innings.
Fathers Day at North Prairie was a stifling hot and humid day in which a number of Express players seemed to be suffering from dehydration due to a wedding the previous night and Piedot's party. The Dawgs got off to a solid start and were never really threatened the East Troy. They scored 1 in the 1st inning and then 4 more in the 3rd on what seemed like an endless string of walks, passed balls and errors. Ryan Kehl again was behind the plate, but could not get on the same page as starter Todd Nabor. By the time the Express scored a run it was already 6-0. Kehl doubled in a run to break the ice but it was too little too late. Kehl led the offense with 3 hits. Jeff Tess had 2 hits on the day, and is showing signs of heating up. Adam Wolters hit his 3rd homerun of the year with 2 outs and no one on in the top of the 9th.
The Express host a Sunday meeting with the Farmington Braves at 1:30. East Troy is sitting in a tie for 3rd place with Mukwonago at 6-4. Despite the record, the Express have already played undefeated Waterford and 1 loss North Prairie, so the next couple weeks should be games that East Troy will be favored to win. If East Troy is able to handle their business, look for ET to lock up a playoff spot in the next 3 weeks. .500 should be enough to get in this year.
Odd man out???
1) With 6 playoffs spots available, who will get pimped and watch from home? Waterford, NP, East Troy and Muktown are most likely in.
Delavan 2-7
Genesee 5-4
Rome 4-6
Sullivan 5-5
