Welcome

Welcome to the new Western Hills High School Wrestling website.  Our season is getting ready to begin and we are looking forward to a productive and promising season with a few new additions to our roster.

Tuesday, January 1
WCI
The team participated in the Woodford County Invitational on December 28-29, one of the toughest tournaments in the state of Kentucky.  Mark Davis won his opening match against Manual and Josh Bell won a covincing 7-0 decision over Lafayette.  Josh lost two hard fought matches to PRP and Westland (OH).

Updates for 2007-2008

We have been wrestling well over the last few weeks. 

At our duals tournament, Ryan Gipson recorded wins against Holmes, and Campbell County B.  Jacob Bowles also recorded wins against North Oldham and Campbell County B.  Matt Cole also recorded a win against Campbell County B. 

At the Oldham County Duals, Josh Bell went 5-0 with wins over Franklin County, Holmes, Eastern, Simon Kenton, and Christian County.  Matt Cole won a tight 13-12 match against Christian County and also recorded wins against wrestlers from Franklin County, Central Hardin, and Seneca.  Mark Davis also recorded two convincing wins against Franklin County and Holmes. 

Mark Davis, Ryan Gipson, and Josh Bell wrestled very well at the King of the Bluegrass Tournament. Ryan recorded wins against Holmes and Valley, while Josh recorded wins against Valley and Fairdale.  Josh placed 4th, losing a tough wrestler from Eastern.

At the Region 7 Duals, Ryan Gipson recorded impressive wins against Henry Clay and Montgomery County.  Jacob Bowles managed a pin against Henry Clay.  Mark Davis recorded wins against Henry Clay, Harrison County, and Bryan Station.  Josh Bell also went 8-1 with a tough 4-3 to loss to Franklin County and pins against Henry Clay, Bryan Station, Lafayette, Montgomery County, Harrison County, and Tates Creek.

 The team will return to full strength for the Woodford County Invitational on December 28-29 followed by the Tates Creek Invitational on January 5.



Monday, November 19
Schedule Change
Due to a scheduling cancelleation, we will now be attending the King of the Bluegrass Tournament at Fairdale High School in Louisville on December 8.  This has been traditionally a very good and competitive tournament.

Schedule Change
Due to recent changes in the dates and times of the Region 7 Super Duals, we have added a weekday dual on December 5 at Harrison County.  We may also be wrestling Dixie Heights on that date as well.  Please check back for more information.
