Mick only stayed in Hull for a couple of years, but made an impact far beyond his time there. His infamous 'This is Sharks weather' statement, sick-covered sweatshirts, registering for squatter status in the flat and almost being killed by his brother for repeated food-theft will stay with us for years to come.
However, probably the most poignant thought for those of us who have met Mike is, well, what he looks like. With a name like that, who'd have expected a big, pasty, northern white bloke, with kebab down his chest to turn up?
Despite his reputation as team gob***e, Mike was a cracking player (just don't tell him) and is probably exhorting the Dubai National American Football squad to glory as we speak.
