Cath. What can we say about the lovely Cathy? For so long the organisational powerhouse behind OBWs, younger Whales could be forgiven for not truly appreciating her loveliness. Patience of a saint (married to Nige), rustic charm (Wezt Curntry gurl), culinary goddess, hostess with the mostess, listener supreme, willing to make a tart of herself (see last 2 OBW costumes). Her list of qualities is almost as long as her list of admirers.
Enough of the sicky stuff. It's fair to say that the OBW wouldn't be anywhere near as fab and shiny as it is today had Cath not been involved for so long, and I think it's equally fair to say that she'd probably top a poll of 'Everyone's Favourite Whale'. At least if proporitionate represenation was employed. (Ahem, Mr Jackson).
