Come on out for our Fall Clean Up Day. Now that all league activity is done for the season, we need to get everything cleaned up and put away for the winter. Bring family, friends, and lawn tools (and gloves) on Saturday, October 8, between 9 and 3. The Board appreciates your help in keeping our grounds among the best in the area.

Fall Ball Starts 7-26
Call it Fall Ball, call it Second Season.... whatever you call it, come out and play some more!
Starting on July 26 and running through August 18, we'll have coaches at the fields on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-8:00 to lead players ages 7-12 in fun, skill-developing activities. Baseball will meet on Wilson Field and softball on Buell Field. The cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt.
Please arrive by 5:45 to register. This is also open to players who did not play this season but want to try the sport to see if they want to play next year; those players will need to complete a league registration form.

Westwood is hosting All Stars and we need your help!
As part of the tournament this year, Westwood is excited to host games for Little Major Baseball, Junior Softball, and Little Major Softball, including the championship games for the two softball divisions! We need your help to host the games! We need a scorekeeper and announcer for each game and concession workers for each of the 10 nights we have games scheduled. The games are:
Little Major Baseball
- 6/30 @ 6 on Todd & Wilson
- 7/1 @ 6 on Todd & Wilson
- 7/5 @ 6 on Todd & Wilson
- 7/6 @ 6 on Todd & Wilson
- 7/5 @ 6 on Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/6 @ 6 on Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/7 @ 6 on Gibbs-Shafer - if necessary
Little Major Softball
- 7/11 @ 6 Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/12 @ 6 Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/13 @ 6 Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/14 @ 6 Gibbs-Shafer
- 7/15 @ 6 Gibbs-Shafer - if necessary
Any of our volunteers from this year - team parents, coaches, concession workers - can fill any of these roles. If you haven't volunteered this year but would like to help, all you need is to complete and return to us a volunteer application (https://www.eteamz.com/westwoodll/files/VolunteerApplication16.pdf) with a copy of your drivers license.
Hosting games is how we give back to the rest of the leagues in our district so that kids can have the tournament experience. The board is not able to do it alone - we need you too! Please reply to this message if you are able to help. We will do our best to match you to a time and job that works for you. Also reply if you have any questions about our needs. Thanks for your consideration!

Help Needed for Little Major Special Games
Westwood is a host site for the Little Majors Baseball Special Games tournament on June 4-5. As a host, we need to provide scorekeepers for the games. We also need people to staff concessions so we can raise more funds for the league. Hosting Special Games is a way we can give back to the larger Little League community in Kalamazoo as there will be teams from many of the leagues in District 2 participating.
Please use the Sign Up Genius to take a time slot to help.

Twas the Night Before Opening Day
We are just a few hours from the start of the season! And tomorrow looks like a great day to play!Just a couple of last minute reminders.
- The parade starts at 8:00 so please be at the Fire Station by 7:30 if you have a vehicle to transport a team, or by 7:45 at the latest. No candy can be thrown to parade watchers!
- If you are towing something for the parade, we ask that you drop your riders and move your vehicle to the Indian Prairie parking lot.
- Bring non-perishable food items for the District 2 Food Drive in memory of Larry MacPhee. Let's try to win the award for most pounds per player.
- If you did not get your uniform this evening, you will be able to get it from your coach or team parent tomorrow morning.
- The parking lot at the fields will be very crowded in the morning. We will try to have it marked, but pull into the grass on the west side of the lot and fit two rows of vehicles in the middle. Leave an aisle at the south end to be able to drive around and head back toward the entrance. Be courteous and drive slowly.
All the schedules are posted (finally). Thank you for your patience as we worked our way through this process.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
