Novice Coaching -
If you are a coach and would like to take the Novice Training Course please contact the Director of Coaches from your local soccer association.

Youth 1 Course
The Youth Module Level 1 (YM-1) course is for the coach of U6 and U8 teams. The YM-1 certificate is required for all U7 & U8 travel coaches.
The course is presented in two parts:
- One Three (3) hour webinar* covers the developmental aspects of coaching the 6, 7 and 8 year old players.
- One Two (2) to Three (3) hour field session during which each coach is given 5 to 10 minutes to coach a team demonstrating the "good" practices they have learned in the webinar.
Youth 2 Course
The Youth Module Level 2 (YM-2) course is for the coach of U9 and U10 teams. The YM-2 certificate is required for all U9 & U10 travel coaches.
The course is presented in two parts:
- One Three (3) hour webinar* covers the developmental aspects of coaching the 9 and 10 year old player.
- One Two (2) to Three (3) hour field session during which each coach is given 5 to 10 minutes to coach a team demonstrating the "good" practices they have learned in the webinar.
E License Course
E License (required for U11/U12 Coaches)
An eighteen hour course offered to the candidates coaching an U12 team or higher. The curriculum focus on the development of the player, both individually and as a team player. The emphasis will be to build on the players’ technical development by applying tactical concepts that will address game situations. The course will help coaches expand their knowledge and understanding of technical and tactical demands of the game and provide the understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.
The course entails classroom and field sessions, which candidates are expected to participate in.
There is no prerequisite for this course.
There is a minimum 20 candidates to conduct a course.
D Course
D License (required for U13 select/travel coaches)
A thirty-six hour course offered to the candidates coaching U14 and up select/travel teams. The focus is to provide a framework and understanding of practical coaching tools to improve players’ technique and to expand their tactical awareness within the team. The coach’s ability to create game like situations during the training sessions that challenge and develop the individual and team, are also a part of the course.
The course entails classroom and field sessions, which candidates are expected to participate in.
The "E" License is prerequisite for this course.
A minimum of 25 candidates is required to conduct a course.
