Common Questions asked about our summer league

When does it start?  Typically, right around the last weekof June or 1st week of July 4th .

How old do you have to be?  We accept boys & girls ages 7-16yrs old.

When are games played?  Games pare layed Mon – Thur nights, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm.  No weekends and no practicing, just games

Where are games played?  We use 3 outdoor courts, all well lite.  2 courts are at Riverpoint Park (1 Hay Street, WW) and 1 beautiful court behind Masie Quin Elementary School (1 Brown Street, WW).

Do you have to be from West Warwick to play?  No, anyone can play.  Last year we had kids from Coventry, NK, Exeter, Smithfield, Riverside, Saunderstown, Greenville, Warwick, West Greenwich, EG, Jamestown, West Kingston, Cranston, Scituate, Providence, Hope, Foster, West Warwick, Johnston and even from nearby Sterling, Dayville and Moosup CT.

Can I play with my friends?  We try to accommodate all requests, especially for those who need help in carpooling and especially the younger kids.  It is increasing difficult in the older divisions.  With over 500 kids, it is impossible to guarantee every request.  We try, JUST MAKE SURE TO PUT THEM ON REGISTRATION FORM!

Do we conflict with local high school leagues?  We try not to.  There are several high school leagues and it’s very hard to avoid conflicts in them all.  We “DO WORK AROUND” the Johnston Girls Summer High School League so no one has to miss out……. We encourage playing as much as possible in the summer as this is the time to work on your overall game.

We travel in the summer; can we miss games?  Absolutely, everyone misses a game or 2 or 3 during the summer.  That is why every team has 10 players.

Where are the courts located ? All courts are well lit - Two are located at Riverpoint Park (106 Hay Street, WW) and 1 court is behind Masie Quinn School (1 Brown Street, WW)

What are the age groups/divisions?  We offer an Instructional Division (boys/Girls ages 7 & 8 playing together ion 8 1/2ft basket); Boys 4th/5th; 6th/7th; 8th/9th and 10th/11th divisions – Girls 9yrs-12yrs and 13ys-16yrs.

Can my child play up in an older division?  Yes, if you feel he/she can play "UP" in an older division, we allow it.  Just make sure to mark it on the registration form.

Are their playoffs?  Yes, every division has a playoff and every team qualifies for the playoffs.  The only exception is the Instructional division – no playoffs.
