West Valley Girls Softball is pleased to announce they have signed a 3 year lease with the Los Angeles Unified School Board, plus two 3 year extensions for the right to continue to call Hughes Middle School our home.
WVGS is not sharing the fields.
Barcelona Soccer decided not to put in a final bid for the fields.
WVGS wishes to thank wholeheartedly the efforts of the School District and in particular, school board members Marlene Canter and Tamar Galatzan. The league also wants to thank its members and friends who let known their feelings about WVGS and how much the league means to them. This effort certainly contributed to our being able to retain the fields.

Read the email from Marlene Canter's Office. It is because of the WVGS families, friends and neighbors efforts that our voices were heard!
"Thank you for contacting our office regarding the West Valley Softball
League's use of the playfields at Hughes Middle School. We were moved
by the numerous emails and phone calls our office received in support of
the program.
As you may already be aware, the league submitted a successful bid in
response to the District's Request for Proposal (RFP) and has executed a
3-year lease agreement for the use of the fields at Hughes, with two
3-year options.
We recognize the importance of the league to the families and
communities of the West Valley and are pleased that we were able to
reach a satisfactory agreement for all parties involved"
