District 2/3 Baseball Playoffs

American Legion Playoffs began this evening with our first playoff game in the past four years that i've been involved with this Post#207 Team.  Tonight was a memorable game as we defeated EASTHAMPTON who had beaten us handidly at Mittineague Park on June 27th, 9-4.

Before the first pitch was thrown this evening the Easthampton Manager was questioning the validity of one of our players, questioning whether he was actually on our 18 man roster.  All was fine, however this has become a common practice the past few years when we play this team, and every time their challange has been false.

Our first inning tonight was a very quick 1-2-3 and out.  However the tempo of the game changed in the second inning as W.S. #207 went on to a rousing 15-7 victory on the road.   This was a very gratifying win as most teams had written Post 207 off especially after our unfortunate forfeit loss to Westfield on July 6th for not being able to field the 9 required players.  It has been a rough road this past week with our players having played 8 games in 7 days, and after winning this evening we continue now in the playoff picture with a game tomorrow evening at 5:30pm at Ludlow's Whitney Field.

We received timely hitting this evening as well as many great defensive efforts that led to this win.  Our players really have grinded this week traveling to Easthampton, Amherst, Longmeadow, and twice to Greenfield.   This was a very deserved victory!   Thanks to the players for playing their hearts out.
