West Niagara Invitational Soccer Tournament
For ALL West Niagara Tournaments played after December 31, 2010 please go to the underlined website www.gosportnet.com you can also find game sheets and the fields chart under downloads on gosportnet. *Tournament organization update (Feb. 15, 2011): This website is now officially an archive for WEST NIAGARA INVITATIONAL soccer tournaments played from 1999 to (and including) the 2010 tournament. Please feel free to browse through the pages on this site. *After creating the West Niagara Invitational and continuing to organize it over the past 12 years (with support from the club), I have made a decision that it is time for me to retire as the tournament chair and/or organizor of this tournament. This will allow the Lincoln Soccer Club to import some new ideas and a new philosophy that they strongly feel will improve the West Niagara Invitational. I wish them all the best and hope that all their ideas will make this a better tournament. Please give your support to Kathryn Berube and Laura Fisher who are now fully in charge of all maters related to this tournament. Thank you for your support over the years and for your help in making this the largest tournament in Canada between 2006 and 2010. Yours in Soccer - John Miljan* Please read all of the info provided on this page to become more familiar with this tournament. Tournament Type: 1.North American (US State, Provincial and regional divisions - Levels 1, 2 and 3 for U14 and older, Level 3 and top of Level 4 for U12/U13), 2.Provincial (Top of Level 4 for U14 and older, and middle of Level 4 for U12/U13), 3.Regional (lowest levels of competative Level 4 and level 5 to level 7) Level 4 teams need to be lower than top 24 teams. Please click on the On-Line Registration Link provided and follow instructions, you will be asked to sign in as a Coach or Manager and complete your teams Profile and Roster information. You can go back to edit this information at any time, so your roster does not need to be finalized until April 20th 2011. We will continue accepting entries and reservation requests as per info herein until a division is full and therefore closed. We will reserve a spot for your team upon receipt of your application and automatic notification by the system that it was submitted by you. Some divisions may be full by mid March, so be sure to apply early. Once the division is filled up we will create a schedule on line that you will be able to view along with the live standings in real-time during the tournament. 1. You will have access to view your team’s status, teams that have registered to your division, sponsors for the tournament, uploaded documents, schedule once the division is full, and finally you can bookmark the live standings page to view standings in real-time from your Smartphone or PC during the tournament to reduce confusion and save you time. 2. All the teams that have reserved a spot before end of January are expected to mail in the entry fee cheque by end of February. If you have reserved a spot during the month of February, we will need your entry to arrive by March 15th. Reservations from March 1st onward will be accepted, if spots are still available, and the payment must be received within 10 days of the posted reservation. The teams that do not pay as per the noted info above will be removed from the list of Accepted Teams. There will be no phone calls about why we did not receive the entry fee payment. Email us if you have a question, but please do not call us if you are one of the teams that have not paid as per the above noted dates and info. 3. We need the electronic information and the requested items in this order: 1.You may reserve a spot by just simply completing the On-line Application, 2.You then need to MAIL us that Same Application with your entry fee by the date noted in Item 1 above, 3.You must complete/update the On-line Program Roster page before April 20th at the latest, 4.Team Roster, the approved Travel Permit for participating teams that are not from Niagara Region, as well as your properly registered books, must be delivered to team registration when you are registering your team at the tournament headquarters (Lions Park in Lincoln). The registration will take place between 6:30pm and 8:30pm on a Friday evening, the day BEFORE YOUR TOURNAMENT, or on a Saturday morning AT LEAST an hour before your first scheduled game (no exceptions). 4. If you send us a post dated cheque after you have made a reservation, and the said cheque is payable after the dates noted in Item 1 above, then the next team(s) in line shall move up on the reservation list. We do accept post dated cheques, and provided that the division is not full on the date your cheque becomes cashable, there will be no problems. If it is full, then your team will be considered same as any other late application. 5. This tournament is invitational on a first come first served basis. It's true, we do allow up to a maximum 25% of the teams from a lower level to try their luck against top teams, if they feel up to it. However, once a spot has been reserved it is never taken away from a team, as long as that team follows the instructions posted herein. Sometimes teams reserve a spot and then are not able to fulfill their obligation on time. This is where the first team on hold has the opportunity to take the available spot. 6. We will place a late registering team on hold, and we shall only allow a maximum of 2 teams on Hold after a division is full. You do not need to send us a cheque, if your team is on HOLD. We will let you know that you have become one of the accepted teams, or you can look on our website (MY SITE NEWS herein) and see if your team has become one of the 'accepted' teams. You can also look on the gosportnet site as it is a live site to see who are the accepted team. 7. Posting of "Accepted Teams" for 2011 tournament shall begin on Jan. 15th, 2011 and continue until a division is full. Go to MY SITE NEWS herein to view the list of teams that were accepted in any of the last 5 years.
