West Mesa Little League: 2011 West Mesa Little League Divisions
Boys and Girls Ages 5 and 6
TeeBall is offered as a basic instructional level of baseball not only for the players but also as a basic introduction for parents into the Little League program. It is the best time for adults to start learning how to manage, coach, umpire, and be a team parent. All parents are asked to be volunteers in one way or another in this division.
Tee-ball is teaching young players the basic fundamentals of baseball on their own level of understanding and skill. We will use Little League approved equipment which will include the use of a Soft-Tee baseball and hitting off a batting tee. Because tee-ball is at the beginning of the learning process, score is not kept so there are no winners or losers.
Tee-ball is also for meeting new friends. Our players learn to work with each other as a team, develop team spirit and good sportsmanship. Adults will be fully expected to set this example. Tee-ball will require patience, thoughtful judgment, rational thinking, and positive responsiveness toward everyone involved. These are the keys to an enjoyable experience for our tee-ball players.
Team player assignments for TeeBall and Machine Pitch will be distributed to Managers the first week of March.
